Rick Insell (born June 5, 1951) [1] is the current head coach for the Middle Tennessee State University women's basketball team. [2]
He was the head coach of the Shelbyville Central High School girls' basketball team for 28 seasons. Coach Insell compiled a record of 775–148 (.840) and won 10 state championships and won a Tennessee record 110 straight games. [2] Insell was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2017.

Patricia Susan Summitt was an American women's college basketball head coach and college basketball player. As a coach, she acquired 1,098 career wins, the most in college basketball history at the time of her retirement. She served as the head coach of the University of Tennessee Lady Vols basketball team from 1974 to 2012.

Frances Hollingsworth "Holly" Warlick is an American college basketball coach who was head coach for the Tennessee Lady Volunteers. She replaced head coach Pat Summitt prior to the 2012–13 season and held the position until the end of the 2018–19 season. Warlick was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2001.

The Rebels, who were led by second-year head coach Matt Insell, played their home games at Tad Smith Coliseum and are members of the Southeastern Conference. They finished the season 19–14, 7–9 in SEC play to finish in a tie for seventh place. They lost in the second round of the SEC women's basketball tournament to Arkansas. They were invited to the Women's National Invitation Tournament where they defeated Tennessee–Martin in the first round, Georgia Tech in the second round before losing to Middle Tennessee in the third round.

Matthew Ollen Insell is the current Associate Head Coach of Women's Basketball at Middle Tennessee State University. Insell was the head coach of the Ole Miss women's basketball team from 2013 to 2018 before he was let go by Ole Miss following the 2018 season. Prior to his time at Ole Miss, Insell spent 5 years as an Assistant Coach at the University of Kentucky and one year as the Director of Basketball Operations at Louisiana Tech University. On May 7, 2018, Matt Insell was hired to work as assistant coach at Middle Tennessee State University. September 20, 2022, Matt Insell was promoted to Associate Head Coach at Middle Tennessee State University.
