Boyz n the Hood is a 1991 American coming-of-age hood crime drama film written and directed by John Singleton in his feature directorial debut. It stars Cuba Gooding Jr., Ice Cube, Morris Chestnut, and Laurence Fishburne, with Nia Long, Tyra Ferrell, Regina King, and Angela Bassett in supporting roles.
