Brendan Sheerin (born 23 February 1959)[ citation needed ] is a British international tour guide, television personality, pantomime actor and author, who appeared on the reality TV show Coach Trip on Channel 4.
Since 2005, Sheerin has appeared in the Channel 4 television series Coach Trip . He acts as a travel guide for the contestants, commentator on their conduct and coordinator of the vote off. [2]
In 2012, Sheerin signed a deal to host a new dating show for Channel 4, titled Brendan's Love Boat. [3] [4] Brendan's Love Cruise began on More4 on 2 December 2013. A temporary replacement show for Coach Trip, Brendan's Magical Mystery Tour , aired on Channel 4 in June and July 2013. After a one-year break, Coach Trip returned in 2014 for a ninth series.
Sheerin appeared in pantomime for the first time in December 2010, [5] and in 2012 played the part of the baron at the Alhambra Theatre in Bradford opposite Lynda Bellingham. Sheerin is the former entertainments manager of The Spa, Scarborough.
In 2011, Sheerin released his autobiography "My Life: A Coach Trip Adventure".
Sheerin was born into a Roman Catholic family of Irish extraction, in Leeds in the North of England. He attended Corpus Christi high school. His home is in Málaga, Spain. Sheerin is a fluent Spanish speaker and also speaks a good level of French.
Sheerin is gay and was in a 25-year relationship until his life partner Leslie died of heart failure on 28 December 2001 at their home in Flixton, North Yorkshire. [6]

Coach Trip is a British reality game show that began airing on Channel 4 on 7 March 2005. The show's premise sees four to seven pairs of tourists undertaking a coach tour principally of continental Europe between twenty and fifty days, whilst accompanied in every episode by tour guide Brendan Sheerin. A vote takes place every evening in which each couple votes for the pair they least enjoy travelling with, and the pair with the most votes receives either a yellow or red card. The show went on hiatus on 30 June 2006, and returned after a three-year break, from 25 May 2009 to 9 March 2012. In early 2013, the show went on hiatus again and was replaced by two new shows, Brendan's Magical Mystery Tour and Brendan's Love Cruise. However, in September 2013, Channel 4 announced that they had renewed Coach Trip for another series in 2014. On 9 April 2014, a further four series were announced following the success of the ninth series in early 2014.

Celebrity Coach Trip 1 was the first series of Celebrity Coach Trip which was filmed from 6 to 20 September 2010 and began airing on 8 November 2010. The series featured a variety of celebrity couples on a 10-day tour, the couples get to vote off the other couples that they do not get along with. On the last day of the coach trip the remaining couples vote for the couple that they want to win the £1000 prize for charity. The first day of the coach trip started in Prague and the last day of the trip ended in Venice. Tour guide Brendan Sheerin, narrator Dave Vitty, coach driver Paul Donald and the MT09 MTT registration all returned for this series, which aired on Channel 4.
