Brian Bowler

Brian Granthen Bowler (born 27 November 1964) is a Malawian Ambassador and diplomat. Bowler is the ambassador and permanent representative of Malawi to the United Nations, [1] having been assigned to the post on June 4, 2010. He was recalled under the government of President Joyce Banda but was designated again by current President Peter Mutharika.

Career

Prior to his appointment as UN ambassador, Bowler served in the foreign ministry of Malawi as representative to India and Belgium. [2]

Personal life

Bowler is married to Kelly Ann Ernst, an American health officer who works for the March of Dimes. They have two children.

General Freddy José Padilla de León is a retired General of the Army of Colombia and currently serves as Ambassador of Colombia to Austria and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office at Vienna. Prior to this diplomatic post General Padilla served as the General Commander of the Armed Forces of Colombia from 2006 to 2010, and as such assumed the Ministry of National Defence ad interim in 2009.

Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser is a Qatari diplomat and the former permanent representative of Qatar to the United Nations, appointed on 11 September 1998. Prior to this office at the United Nations, Al-Nasser had served as the ambassador to Jordan from 1993. He worked for his country's foreign affairs department beginning in November 1972. He was the President of the Sixty-sixth session of the United Nations General Assembly from 14 September 2011 to 18 September 2012.
