Bricolage is a 1997 album by Brazilian electronic music artist Amon Tobin. It was Tobin's second album, the first released under his own name, and his first on the Ninja Tune label. The album was a departure from his first album, Adventures in Foam (as Cujo), incorporating a heavier blend of jazz melodies and intense jungle rhythms. The album was followed by Permutation in 1998.

Pitchfork 10/10 [2]

Ryan Schreiber of Pitchfork gave Bricolage a maximum rating of 10/10, praising Amon Tobin for the way he produced an album of old jazz music with modern technology, such as samplers and electric keyboards. [2] Sean Cooper of AllMusic stated that the album was consistently engaging and blurred the distinction between jungle and jazz. [1] In 2015, Fact ranked the album at 23 on its list of "The 50 Best Trip-Hop Albums of All Time," where they described it as a midway point between IDM and the "moodier landscapes" of several trip hop artists. [3]

Soundtrack appearances

The track "Easy Muffin" was used in Toonami advertisements for Gundam SEED as well as several episodes of IGPX . It is also used in the 2002 film Divine Intervention and in many episodes of Top Gear . It is also played on the second episode of the first series of Almost Human . "Easy Muffin" has also been used in Lincoln Motor Company television ads starting in 2015.

The Herbaliser English jazz hip hop group

The Herbaliser is an English jazz hip hop group formed by Jake Wherry and Ollie Teeba in London, England during the early 1990s. Although currently releasing on their own label and having previously been signed to !K7 Records, they were one of the best-known acts from the Ninja Tune independent record label. They have released 12 albums, including two DJ mixes: one for Ninja Tune's Solid Steel series and the other for Fabric's Live Mix series. The Herbaliser's album Same As It Never Was was their first release on !K7 Records. Their latest album Bring Out The Sound was released in 2018, on the BBE label.

Vocal Studies + Uprock Narratives is a 2001 studio album by Guillermo Scott Herren, the first released under the name Prefuse 73. The album was released on June 11, 2001 on Warp. The music was created by Herren alone, with some tracks featuring guest vocals from MCs Mikah 9, MF Doom and Aesop Rock as well as vocalist Sam Prekop from The Sea and Cake. Shadow Records

Shadow Records was launched in 1995 as an Instinct Records sub-label to focus on the more organic side of the underground electronic music scene. The label's first release in 1995 defined this approach with Abstrackt Workshop, which featured performances by DJ Krush, Funki Porcini, and Marden Hill in addition to songs from the such cutting edge labels as Pussyfoot and Yellow Productions.

ISAM(Invented Sounds Applied to Music) is the seventh full-length studio album by Brazilian electronic musician Amon Tobin. Laurent Daumail, better known by his stage name DJ Cam, is a French record producer. Daumail's music is largely rooted in hip hop, combined with elements of jazz, dub, and ambient and composed using samples. Daumail first rose to prominence in the 1990s with records such as Underground Vibes and Underground Live, which have been credited as early examples of trip hop, and he emerged as a leading figure in the decade's "ambient hip-hop" scene. He founded the record label Inflamable. In addition to his own musical output, Daumail has produced several compilations and albums for other artists.
