History

The Brighton Education and Community Center building, at 125 S. Church Street, was the district's high school prior to 1966. [5] It was later used as the first Scranton Middle School, until a newer facility was built. As of 2025 it is The Bridge alternative high school, the Tot Spot, and an administrative building. [6]

A new Brighton High School opened in fall 1966. [7] By 1970, the community was debating replacing the high school due to growing enrollment. [8] Instead, the high school capacity was increased from 800 to 1,900 with the construction of additions in 1974. The architect was Daverman Associates. [9] [10]

Lindbom Elementary School was closed in 2010 due to new budget cuts and was demolished in 2023. [11]
