Brikena Smajli (born 1970) is an Albanian writer, [1] and a lecturer at the European University of Tirana. [2]
The European University of Tirana is an accredited private university in Tirana, Albania. It was established in 2006 by four PhD students : Adri Nurellari, Blendi Kajsiu, Ermal Hasimja, and Henri Çili, in collaboration with business manager Laert Duraj and journalist Robert Rakipllari.
Smajli was born in Shkodra, where she still lives. [1] She has been described as "a fine representative of a new generation of female writers in Albania". [3]

Adem Zaplluzha, one of the most prolific Kosovan Albanian poets was born in Prizren in 1943. He completed his primary and secondary education in his hometown and graduated from the School of Pedagogy at the University of Pristina. After that he worked as a teacher for a while in several villages near Prizren and then as a legal translator at the Kosovan Electricity Corporation after that until the end of his career. He started writing and publishing literature from his childhood with his first poem being published in 1957 in the Pionieri literary magazine. At the Kosovan Electricity Corporation he co-founded the literary club 'Kosovan Poppies' which later published some of his works most notably in the 'Ngjyra e Kohës' anthology. His works were published in a wide variety of literary and non-literary publications in Kosovo, Albania, Macedonia and Romania.

Cel Shaban Gjonbalaj was an Albanian commander of the Albanian forces of the League of Prizren in 1879. Born and raised in Rugova, Shabani fought along Jakup Ferri in the Battle of Novšiće against the Montenegrin annexation of Plav-Gusinje area in 1879. He was a Malësor. As a young boy, he lived in Niksic and fought a Montenegrin named Uros. He came out as victorious and, as were the customs of the time, Shabani cut the head of the soldier and carried it with him. At the age of 22, Shabani was given a medal for his heroic acts. Shabani fought all his life against the Montenegrin forces of Marko Miljanov and died in Novšiće in 1879.
Shpend Dragobia was an Albanian warrior during the pre-Albanian declaration of independence period and later. He was the son of Bali Arif Bisheva, a member of the League of Prizren and fighter during the Albanian uprising of 1845-1862 against the German-born Marshal Mehmed Ali Pasha. Shpend Dragobia grew up to be a patriotic figure known for his wisdom, character and bravery.
Faik bej Konica , later Faik Dominik Konica, March 15, 1875 – December 15, 1942), was an important figure of Albanian language and culture in the early decades of the twentieth century. Prewar Albanian minister to Washington, his literary review, Albania, became the focal publication of Albanian writers living abroad. Faik Konica wrote little in the way of literature, but as a stylist, critic, publicist and political figure he had a tremendous impact on Albanian writing and on Albanian culture at the time.
