Brit Hoel (born 19 December 1942) is a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party.
She was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Aust-Agder in 1981, and was re-elected on three occasions. She had previously served in the position of deputy representative during the terms 1981–1985.
On the local level she was a member of Øyestad municipal council from 1975 to 1979.
From 2000 to 2002 she worked at the Office of the Auditor General of Norway. She has been involved in the Norwegian Association of Local and Regional Authorities and the Norwegian Heart and Lung Patient Organisation.

Øyestad is a former municipality in the old Aust-Agder county in Norway. The 96-square-kilometre (37 sq mi) municipality existed from 1838 until 1992 when it was merged into the present-day municipality of Arendal which is now located in Agder county. At the time of its dissolution, the municipality of Øyestad encompassed most of the coastline between the towns of Grimstad and Arendal, along with the forested areas along the Nidelva river heading inland. Back in 1838, however, the municipality was far larger in size. The administrative centre was the village of Bjorbekk near the Bjorbekk Church.

Aust-Agder is one of the 19 multi-member constituencies of the Storting, the national legislature of Norway. The constituency was established in 1921 following the introduction of proportional representation for elections to the Storting. It consists of the municipalities of Åmli, Arendal, Birkenes, Bygland, Bykle, Evje og Hornnes, Froland, Gjerstad, Grimstad, Iveland, Lillesand, Risør, Tvedestrand, Valle and Vegårshei in the county of Agder. The constituency currently elects three of the 169 members of the Storting using the open party-list proportional representation electoral system. At the 2021 parliamentary election it had 87,300 registered electors.
Oddmund Løkensgard Hoel is a Norwegian professor and politician for the Centre Party. He currently serves as the minister of research and higher education since 2024, having previously served as state secretary to said minister between 2021 and 2024.
