Brody Nelson is a character on CSI: Cyber . He makes his debut in the first episode of the first season "Kidnapping 2.0" Brody is a former hacker who is ordered by a judge to assist Avery Ryan (Patricia Arquette). Brody has a friendly rivalry with Daniel Krumitz (Charley Koontz). Brody is also in a secret relationship with Raven Ramirez.

Creation

It was announced on August 20, 2014 that Bow Wow (also Shad Moss) was going to star in CSI: Cyber. Hollywood Reporter used the term, "CSI: Cyber is going hip-hop". [1] When speaking to Digital Spy, it was said, "Bow Wow is a gifted young actor who will have the responsibility, through his character, to set an example for young people who watch the show to 'do what's right' even when you know 'nothing but wrong." [2] It was also said "It will be a redemption story and a cautionary tale all wrapped into one. The role of Nelson required someone with deep acting chops and off-the-charts smarts. Shad Moss is a unique talent that possesses both." [2] City Chile When speaking about his character Shad Moss said that Brody was "savvy, young, had swag... a lot of swag". [3]

Background

Brody was formerly a black hat hacker, named "Qu35t", who got into the trouble with the law. FBI was close to throwing the book at him, until the judge made him work with them. Either he works with the FBI cyber division or he goes to jail for five years. Brody is trying to work hard to earn his redemption.

Storylines

In "Kidnapping 2.0", Brody joins the team and assists in stopping a baby-trafficking ring.
In "CMND/Crash", Brody finds it hard to separate his old life and relationships while having to begin a new life as an FBI Agent.
In "Fire Code", Brody discovered someone was using code he created in his illegal hacking days to create fires.
In "Family Secrets", Brody is seen in the opening scene spying on Avery but it is later discovered that he found out that someone was stalking Avery. Brody was also beaten up by the person stalking Avery and was found by Raven Ramirez (Hayley Kiyoko).
In "Why-Fi" it is revealed that Brody and Raven are secretly dating as they were shown making out in the shower. In "Legacy", It is revealed 4 month's later, after a stint at Quantico, Brody returns to FBI Cyber Division as Special Agent.

CSI is a media franchise of American television series created by Anthony E. Zuiker. The first three CSI series follow the work of forensic scientists as they unveil the circumstances behind mysterious deaths, while the fourth series, CSI: Cyber, emphasizes behavioral psychology and how it can be applied to cyber forensics.

Zeus, ZeuS, or Zbot is a Trojan horse malware package that runs on versions of Microsoft Windows. While it can be used to carry out many malicious and criminal tasks, it is often used to steal banking information by man-in-the-browser keystroke logging and form grabbing. It is also used to install the CryptoLocker ransomware. Zeus is spread mainly through drive-by downloads and phishing schemes. First identified in July 2007 when it was used to steal information from the United States Department of Transportation, it became more widespread in March 2009. In June 2009 security company Prevx discovered that Zeus had compromised over 74,000 FTP accounts on websites of such companies as the Bank of America, NASA, Monster.com, ABC, Oracle, Play.com, Cisco, Amazon, and BusinessWeek. Similarly to Koobface, Zeus has also been used to trick victims of technical support scams into giving the scam artists money through pop-up messages that claim the user has a virus, when in reality they might have no viruses at all. The scammers may use programs such as Command prompt or Event viewer to make the user believe that their computer is infected.

FBI Deputy Director Avery Ryan, Ph.D. is a fictional character portrayed by Patricia Arquette. She was a psychologist in New York until she was hacked and one of her patients was murdered because of it. Avery made her first appearance during the backdoor pilot of CSI: Cyber which was entitled "Kitty". Avery is notable within the series for taking chances on former hackers and for the fact that she herself has been hacked. Elijah Mundo is a fictional character in CSI: Cyber. Elijah is Avery's second in command. He is a former U.S. marine and an expert in battlefield forensics, weaponry, vehicles and bombs. He is portrayed by James Van Der Beek.

Raven Ramirez is a character in CSI: Cyber. The character is portrayed by actress and singer Hayley Kiyoko. Despite being credited, Raven did not appear in "Selfie 2.0", "L0M1S" & "Click Your Poison" in the first season. Raven is also in a secret relationship with Brody Nelson.

"Kitty" is the twenty-first episode of the fourteenth season in the CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. The episode aired on April 30, 2014 on CBS. "Kitty" introduced FBI Agent Avery Ryan from the spin-off CSI: Cyber which this episode served as the backdoor pilot of the series. Despite being credited Jorja Fox and Jon Wellner who portray Sara Sidle and Henry Andrews do not appear in this episode.

DarkMatter Group is a computer security company founded in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in 2014 or 2015. The company describes itself as a purely defensive company.
