Broken Record is a song by English singer Little Boots from her second studio album, Nocturnes (2013). It was released on 18 March 2013 as the album's third single and official lead single. [1] A limited edition vinyl version of the single was released for Record Store Day on 12-inch white vinyl featuring extended versions of "Broken Record" and "Strangers" titled "Nocturnal Versions". [2] The music video was filmed in March, using clothes from Nordic Poetry and roller skates. [3] The video later premiered on The Guardian 's website, with the video noted for its roller disco setting and Hesketh's dreamlike line "In your dreams you belong to me". [4] "Broken Record" and "Strangers" were both subsequently made available as free downloads on Little Boots' SoundCloud page.

Little Boots

Victoria Christina Hesketh, better known by her stage name Little Boots, is an English electropop singer-songwriter and DJ. She was previously a member of the band Dead Disco. Since performing as a solo artist she has released three albums, Hands (2009), Nocturnes (2013) and Working Girl (2015) and a number of associated EPs and remixes. Hesketh has toured internationally both as a DJ-only act as well as with a full band. Hands reached number five on the UK Albums Chart and the singles "New in Town" and "Remedy" became top twenty hits.

Written with Hercules and Love Affair's Andy Butler, the song was released as a limited edition 12" vinyl to commemorate Record Store Day on 21 April 2012, and Little Boots performed a set at Rough Trade East on the same day. The song was later released as a free download on 23 April. "Every Night I Say a Prayer" was originally included on Little Boots's mixtape Into the Future as its title track, until the title changed.
