Itahiwacu Bruce (born 3 March 1992), commonly known as Bruce Melodie is a Rwandan singer and a winner of Primus Guma Guma Super Star seasons 8 (PGGSS). [1] [2] [3]

He is the Founder of Igitangaza Music record Label. [4] [5] Bruce is also a brand ambassador of BK Arena and Primus. [6] He does his music under 1:55 AM label which was led by Coach Gael. [7] in October 2023 Bruce melody released a single "When she is around" featuring Jamaican [8] international hit maker "Shaggy"

History

Early years

Bruce Itahiwacu [9] was born in Kicukiro District, he is the second born in a family of four by “Gervain Ntibihangana (father) and Velene Muteteri (deceased in 2013). [10] Bruce attended Camp Kanombe primary school in Kanombe, Rwamagana Islamic secondary school. [11]

Musical career

Bruce is considered as a Current Rwanda Musician Leader he started singing at an early age in a church choir and released his debut song “Tubivemo” under the album called, Ndumiwe, in August 2013. His second album, Ntundize, was released in 2014 at that time, Bruce was managed under the “Super Level Music Label”. [12] [13] In February 2021, Bruce announced that he had signed with Cloud9 Entertainment [14] to manage his music career, [15] but in 2022 he terminated the contract with Lee and joined new management AM Entertainment headed by Gael Karomba AKA Coach Gael. [16]

He has performed throughout Rwanda and in neighboring countries, including Uganda and has collaborated with numerous artists, including Urban Boyz, Queen Cha, Jay-C, Sheebah Karungi,Palaso,B2C,Fik fameica [17] Khaligraph Jones. [18] He named Craig David as inspiration. [19] He was the first Rwandan artist to perform at Coke Studio (Africa)|Coke Studio Africa. [20] .In 2020 Bruce melodie raised Kenny Sol and Juno kizigenza. In 2023 he got featured in Harmonize's song called Zanzibar.

Primus Guma Guma Super Star is an annual Rwandan reality singing competition show. PGGSS is sponsored by Bralirwa's Primus lager and was created by East African Promoters (EAP) to help grow music entertainment in Rwanda. Unlike East Africa's Tusker Project Fame and American Idol where the competitors are unknown talent, Primus Guma Guma Super Star takes known Rwandan artists and has them compete against each another in hopes of winning cash to promote their music career to new heights.

Moses Nakintije Ssekibogo, also known as Mowzey Radio, sometimes referred to as Moses Radio, was a Ugandan musician. He was one of the main performers of the Ugandan music group Goodlyfe Crew together with Jose Chameleone's brother Weasel Manizo.

After quitting Obsessions, a dance group she joined in 2006, she started making music and later rose to recognition upon the release of her hit single "Ice Cream". In 2014, she released her debut project Ice Cream, a five-track EP which did well commercially and led her to win back-to-back HiPipo Music Awards Best Female Artist in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018. She also won the Artist of the Year award twice, in 2017, 2018, and 2019 at the HiPipo Music Awards.

Benjamin Mugisha, known professionally as The Ben, is a Rwandan singer-songwriter.

Fik Fameica also known as Fresh Bwoy, is a Ugandan rapper and songwriter. He is popularly known for showcasing his versatality in different genres including Hip-Hop, Afrobeats, Afropop and dancehall. His musical debut came in 2015 with "Pistol" under the Black Man Town music label, led by a Ugandan music icon Geosteady. His later songs, "Salawo" and "Mbega Wa Bbaala" gained him a recording contract with Kama Ivien Management. His club hit "Batuwulira" followed by "Byenyenya" made him the most booked Ugandan artist in 2017. Fik won awards in Uganda and East Africa and went on to win Uganda's most popular artist in 2017. In 2018, he was crowned Breakthrough Artist, Best in Hip-Hop and Best Rap Song for his track "Kutama" at the annual HiPipo Awards.
