The Pontifical College Josephinum is a Roman Catholic seminary and private university in Columbus, Ohio. It was founded by Joseph Jessing in 1888 and was granted the status of a Pontifical College in 1892 by Pope Leo XIII, making it the only pontifical seminary in North America. Although the college is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada (ATS), the HLC placed the institution on probation in 2022 for issues including problems in strategic planning, internal leadership structures, and declining enrollment, while the ATS gave a warning for problems in planning.

Archbishop Quigley Preparatory Seminary was an American seminary preparatory school administered by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago for young men considering the priesthood. Located in downtown Chicago at 103 East Chestnut Street, adjacent to Loyola University Chicago's Water Tower campus, it closed on 22 June 2007, and became the Archbishop Quigley Center, the pastoral center and headquarters of the archdiocese after renovations ending 19 November 2008. Between 1961 and 1990, the seminary was split into two campuses: Quigley South and Quigley North, with Quigley North housed at the original building. The south campus was closed in 1990, with all seminary operations returning to the original building.

Cardinal Muench Seminary was a Roman Catholic minor seminary located in Fargo, North Dakota, United States. Founded in 1962 as the seminary of the Diocese of Fargo, it reached a peak enrollment of 84 seminarians in 1978. Enrollment declined in the years that followed, and the seminary closed in 2011 due to low enrollment and high costs.
The Catholic Normal School and Pio Nono College, also known as Holy Family Normal School, was a paired institution in St. Francis, Wisconsin, founded in 1870 by Rev. Dr. Joseph Salzmann as the first Catholic normal school in the United States. The Normal School specialized in training young men in music education, while Pio Nono was a business college. In 1922, Pio Nono became a high school, serving boys in grades nine to 12. The school merged with Don Bosco High School in 1972 to form St. Thomas More High School.
