Bruno Trouble (born 29 May 1945) is a French sailor who competed in the 1968 Summer Olympics and in the 1976 Summer Olympics. [1]
He raced a Flying Dutchman at the 1968 Olympics, finishing sixth, and a Soling keelboat at the 1976 Olympics, finishing seventh.
He later got involved in America's Cup sailing, where he was a member of the French afterguard in the 1977 Herbert Pell Cup. He helmed the French boat in the 1980 Herbert Pell Cup and 1983 Louis Vuitton Cup. [2] Credited with creating the Louis Vuitton Cup, Troublé later ran the Louis Vuitton Media Centre for the 2000 and 2003 America's Cups and organised the Louis Vuitton Pacific Series and Louis Vuitton Trophy. In 2003, he was made an honorary officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit. He has also been awarded the Legion of Honour. [5] [3]
The Louis Vuitton Cup is the name of the Challenger Selection Series sailing competition from 1983, named after its sponsor, Louis Vuitton. The winner of the competition became the challenger to compete with the defender of the America's Cup. The competition for the 2017 America's Cup changed format and name to the Louis Vuitton Challenger’s Trophy. The following series, in 2021, was named the Prada Cup after its new sponsor. In 2024 the challenger selection series will again be named after Louis Vuitton. Five out of the nine winners of the Louis Vuitton Cup competitions subsequently won the America's Cup itself.

Don Cowie, born 5 January 1962 in Palmerston North, New Zealand, is a former competitive sailor who won a silver medal at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. Cowie teamed with ex-American Rod Davis in the Star class to finish second to the American crew.
Roderick Hopkins Davis is a former competitive sailor who won Olympic medals for two countries. At the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, representing the United States, he won the gold medal in the Soling class along with Robert Haines and Edward Trevelyan. After moving to New Zealand he was chosen to represent that country at the next three Olympic Games. Along with Don Cowie he won a silver medal at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain in the Star class.
Steven Richard Erickson is an American sailor and Olympic champion in the Star class. He competed at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles and won a gold medal in the Star together with William Earl Buchan.

At the 2000 Summer Olympics he competed in the mixed skiff with Nathan Handley, finishing in 8th place. At the 2008 Summer Olympics, he competed in the men's finn class finishing 12th. He competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the Men's Finn class. He was successful in winning the third race which the commentator remarked was "one of the races of his life".
