Buddy Vedder (born 26 August 1994) is a Dutch actor and television presenter. He is known for playing the role of Rover Dekker in the soap opera Goede tijden, slechte tijden . He played lead roles in the musicals Murder Ballad (2020) and Saturday Night Fever (2024). Vedder is also a jury member in the television show The Masked Singer . [2] [3]

Career

Vedder presented the Kids Top 20 television show from 2015 to 2018. [4] [5] He played the role of Rover Dekker from 2015 to 2017 in the soap opera Goede tijden, slechte tijden . [6] [7] He left the show to focus on presenting television shows. [8] [9]

Vedder won the award for Beste Zapp-presentator at the 2017 Zapp Awards. [10] He also won the award for Beste Jeugdpresentator at the 2018 Zapp Awards and 2019 Zapp Awards. [11] In 2018, he presented the Kinderprinsengrachtconcert held on the same day as the Prinsengrachtconcert . [12]

In 2019, he presented the show Te leuk om waar te zijn with Britt Dekker and Donnie as team captains. [13] [14] In the same year, he became a jury member in the television show The Masked Singer . [15] [16] Vedder played a lead role in the musical Murder Ballad in 2020. [17] He won the Favoriete Ster Jeugdprogramma award at the 2020 Zapp Awards. [18] [19] He played a role in the 2020 film Misfit 3: De Finale directed by Erwin van den Eshof. [20] Vedder presented Deal or No Deal in 2021 and 2022. [21] [22]

Since 2022, Vedder and Jamai Loman present the talent television series Holland's Got Talent . [23] [24] He played the role of Judas Iscariot in The Passion 2023 , a Dutch Passion Play held every Maundy Thursday since 2011. [25] [26]

In 2024, Vedder and Jamai Loman presented the musical theatre performance television show Stars on Stage. [27] [28] He plays a role in the 2024 film De Legende van Familie Vos directed by Bob Wilbers. [29] In the same year, he plays the role of Tony Manero in the Saturday Night Fever musical. [30] [31]

Television appearances

In 2016, Vedder and Robin Martens won the dance competition television show Dance Dance Dance. [32] [33] He appeared in a 2016 episode of the show Ik hou van Holland . He also appeared in a 2019 episode of the quiz show Britt's Beestenbende . [34] Vedder won the 2020 season of Wie is de Mol? by identifying Rob Dekay as the mole. [35] [36] [37]

Goede tijden, slechte tijden, also known as GTST or simply Goede tijden, is the longest-running Dutch soap opera, which began on 1 October 1990 on RTL4. The programme was the first daily soap in the Netherlands and Europe. The soap is produced by Joop van den Ende and to date over 7,000 episodes have been broadcast. It was initially based on the Australian soap The Restless Years, however it switched to original scripts during the third season and onwards. GTST is broadcast Monday to Friday at 20:00, and became available on demand via streaming platform Videoland from 2015.

Zondag met Lubach was a Dutch weekly satirical television programme that aired between 2014 and 2021, presented by Arjen Lubach and broadcast on NPO 3. Each week Lubach talked for half an hour about the news of the past week through various fragments from the media infographics and investigative journalism. The show's main scriptwriters were Tex de Wit and Pieter Jouke. The program was recorded in the main auditorium of the Theater Bellevue in Amsterdam.
