The Buena Vista Beavers football team represents Buena Vista University in college football at the NCAA Division III level. The Beavers are members of the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C), fielding its team in the A-R-C since 1923 when the conference was branded as the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC). The Beavers play their home games at J. Leslie Rollins Stadium in Storm Lake, Iowa. [2]

    James Monroe Hershberger was an American athletic director and college football coach. He was the head football coach for Buena Vista College—now known as Buena Vista University—from 1970 to 1982 and from 1984 to 1989.

    The 2023 American Rivers Conference football season was the season of college football played by the nine member schools of the American Rivers Conference (ARC) as part of the 2023 NCAA Division III football season. The 2023 Wartburg Knights football team compiled a 13–1 record, won the ARC championship, and made it to the NCAA Division III semifinal where they lost to North Central (IL) 34–27.

    The 1973 Buena Vista Beavers football team was an American football team that represented Buena Vista College as a member of the Iowa Conference during the 1973 NAIA Division II football season. In their fourth year under head coach Jim Hershberger, the Beavers compiled an 8–1 record, won the Iowa Conference championship, and outscored opponents by a total of 208 to 106. The team's only loss was to the eventual NAIA Division II national champion Northwestern Red Raiders. It was Buena Vista's first outright conference championship since 1952.
