The Buena Vista Beavers football team represents Buena Vista University in college football. The team competes at the NCAA Division III level as a member of the American Rivers Conference (ARC). The program has had 33 head coaches since it began to play during the 1898 college football season. Since the start of the 2023 season, Austin Dickinson has served as head coach of the Beavers.

James Dennis Kelly was an American football, basketball, and track and field coach and college athletics administrator. He coached at DePaul University and the University of Minnesota and was head coach of the United States track and field team at the 1956 Summer Olympics.
David C. Gunther was an American basketball player and coach. He served as the head basketball coach at the University of North Dakota from 1970 to 1988. Gunther played college basketball at the University of Iowa and professional basketball with the San Francisco Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
Buena Vista University is a private university in Storm Lake, Iowa, United States. Founded in 1891 as Buena Vista College, it is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church. The university's 60-acre (240,000 m2) campus is situated on the shores of Storm Lake, a 3,200-acre (13 km2) natural lake.
Randy Michael Rahe is an American former college basketball coach who was the head men's basketball coach at Weber State University. He was hired on March 23, 2006, as the 9th coach in Weber State's 47-year history. Rahe announced his retirement May 16, 2022 through the University, Rahe came to WSU from the University of Utah where he was an assistant under former coach Ray Giacoletti. Rahe was also an assistant under Stew Morrill for 13 seasons, first at Colorado State University and then at Utah State University. Rahe posted a record of 54–17 as a high school coach in Colorado from 1985 to 1988. He has also been an assistant coach at Colorado College, Colorado and Denver.
Ross Merle Masonholder was an American football and wrestling coach. He served as the head football coach at Carroll College—now known as Carroll University—in Waukesha, Wisconsin from 1982 to 2000 and Central Methodist University in Fayette, Missouri from 2001 to 2007, compiling a career college football coaching record of 108–142. Masonholder was also the head wrestling coach at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa from 1969 to 1971 and Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa from 1971 to 1977.
Tom Rethman is an American college football coach. He is the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for Buena Vista University, positions he has held since 2024. He served as the head football coach at Briar Cliff University from 2008 to 2016, compiling a record of 21–78. He was the second head coach in the history of the Briar Cliff Chargers football program, succeeding Dick Strittmatter. The 1973 Buena Vista Beavers football team was an American football team that represented Buena Vista College as a member of the Iowa Conference during the 1973 NAIA Division II football season. In their fourth year under head coach Jim Hershberger, the Beavers compiled an 8–1 record, won the Iowa Conference championship, and outscored opponents by a total of 208 to 106. The team's only loss was to the eventual NAIA Division II national champion Northwestern Red Raiders. It was Buena Vista's first outright conference championship since 1952.
