Build 'n Race is a video game developed by British studio Icon Games Entertainment and published by Zoo Games for the Wii. It was released on August 4, 2009, in North America.
Build 'n Race is a game of high-speed racing through insane environments - huge jumps, ramps, raised hairpin turns, half-pipes and a multitude of other reflex testing track designs. Track creation tools allow the player to easily build courses using more than 1,000 different construction blocks, which can then be played in single or multiplayer modes. [1]
Practice any of the tracks unlocked in the Championship Mode. No time limit applies in this mode. You can select tracks in any order providing you have already accessed them in the Championship Mode.
The objective in time trial mode is to complete a track in the quickest time to possible to get a place on the fastest time score board. [1] This mode features a Best Time 'Replay Car', which appears after the first lap of the track. This car will replay your fastest time while you race - effectively you are your own opponent. You can select tracks in any order providing you have already accessed them in the Championship Mode.
The Championship Mode is set over eight cups with each cup featuring 7 or 8 different races. A race is held on each course with the seven participating cars vying for top honors. Once a cup race is over, driver points are distributed according to the driver's position. The total number of driver points determines a driver's overall ranking. The player who finishes in first place wins a gold cup, second a silver, and third a bronze. At the end of each race, a status screen displays the finish position of the cars. The winner's overall race time is displayed along with the best lap time and each losing car displays its time behind the leader's on the status board.
The Challenge Modes allow the player to select one of four difficulty levels: Easy, Medium, Hard and Challenge. These correspond to the difficulty of the tracks you will race on. For each difficulty level there are 15 tracks. Initially only the Easy level will be available - with the player able to select any of the 15 tracks to race on. You can only unlock the next challenge level by winning at least a bronze on all of the tracks for the current difficulty level. In Race Challenge, you must finish in the top 3 to earn a medal (1st, 2nd, or 3rd to obtain gold, silver, or bronze respectively). You race the Al cars in this mode. In Time Challenge, each track has three reference times. Each one associated with a medal: bronze, silver, or gold.
Build 'n Race features three different environment themes inspired by locations throughout the world.

Zoo Games arranged a licensing deal with Pennzoil, but it fell through and as a result it lost the Pennzoil license.[ citation needed ]
Build 'n Race was poorly received. One critic wrote: "Overall, Build 'n Race is one of the better entries in the Wii's budget-priced library...With some serious refinement and development, however, a sequel could catapult the game out of bargain bins and into shelf space reserved for premium titles." [2] When compared to other games on the platform, especially those within the racing genre, it appears that the novelty that Build 'n Race had (user generated tracks) [1] couldn't overcome the hurtle of its poor racing gameplay. Metropolis Street Racer (MSR) is a racing video game developed by Bizarre Creations and published by Sega exclusively for Dreamcast. The game was intended to be a Dreamcast launch title, however, due to numerous delays it was not released in Europe until November 2000, with a North American version following in January 2001. A Japanese version was in development and briefly offered for online reservation in January 2001 with an expected release date of 22 February 2001, but ultimately canceled after Sega discontinued support for Dreamcast. TOCA Race Driver 3, TOCA Race Driver 3 Challenge in the PlayStation Portable version and Race Driver: Create & Race in the Nintendo DS version is a racing video game developed and published by Codemasters for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 2, Xbox, PlayStation Portable and OS X. It is the sixth game in the TOCA series. The game features several fully licensed championships, including the DTM series and V8 Supercar championship. This is the last in the series to have TOCA in its title as following on from this TOCA was dropped in favour of just Race Driver. Despite featuring the name TOCA in its title, the game did not feature the British Touring Car Championship. The game received positive reviews, frequently being compared favourably to Gran Turismo 4 and Forza Motorsport, in the aspects of cars on track, collision and wear damage.
TOCA: Touring Car Championship is a 3D racing video game licensed by series organisers TOCA, and developed and published by Codemasters for the PlayStation and Microsoft Windows platforms in 1997-1998. It was re-released by Codemasters for the Game Boy Color in 2000. It was the first entry in the eponymous series and was followed by TOCA 2 Touring Cars in 1998. The player takes control of a driver who races for one of the eight works teams that contested the 1997 British Touring Car Championship against fifteen AI competitors on one of the nine championship circuits. A championship mode is available for players with the objective of earning points to continue competing and unlocking new features.
Need for Speed: Carbon is a 2006 racing video game and the tenth installment in the Need for Speed series. Developed by EA Black Box, Rovio Mobile and published by Electronic Arts, it was released on October 31, 2006, for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox, Xbox 360, GameCube, Windows, and Mac OS X, and on November 19, 2006 as a launch title for the Wii and in 2008 for arcade cabinets. The game sees players conducting illegal street races within the fictional city of Palmont City, with the game's main story taking place after the events of Need for Speed: Most Wanted and focusing on the player's character taking control of the city from various street-racing gangs. While the gameplay is similar to its predecessor, Carbon introduced a number of new features, including crews and racing wingmen, Touge-styled racing events, and greater customization options.

Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli is a racing game developed by Eutechnyx and published by System 3, based on the Ferrari Challenge, a single-marque motorsport championship. It is available on Nintendo and Sony platforms in the Western world, and is exclusively available for download on the PlayStation 3 in Korea. The game features 14 playable tracks and Ferrari's own Fiorano test track, a vinyl editor and online play for all versions except the PS2. Hot Wheels Stunt Track Driver is a racing video game developed by Semi Logic Entertainments and published by Mattel Media for Microsoft Windows. It is based on the Hot Wheels toy franchise, and was released on October 15, 1998. A Game Boy Color version, developed by Lucky Chicken Games, was released in 2000.
F1 2009 is a video game based on the 2009 season of the Formula One motor racing series. It was released on the Wii and PlayStation Portable in 2009 on 16 November in North America, 19 November in the PAL region and 20 November in the United Kingdom. The game was also released on iOS on 14 December for £6.99. The PlayStation Portable version was also available as a download from the PlayStation Store from 16 November.
Need for Speed: Nitro is a racing video game and the fourteenth title of the Need for Speed series. It was published by Electronic Arts for the Wii and Nintendo DS platforms. It is also one of only two games in the franchise to date to not be made for PC and the only game of the franchise to be released only for Nintendo consoles. It was announced in January as part of a three-game announcement that includes Need for Speed: Shift and Need for Speed: World. The game was developed by EA Montreal who have previous experience with Nintendo titles, although the DS version was developed separately by Firebrand Games' Florida studio. An improved version of the DS edition of the game, Need for Speed: Nitro-X, was released for DSiWare on November 26, 2010.
GeneRally is a freeware racing game developed by brothers, Hannu and Jukka Räbinä, from Finland. Although it features a 3D graphics engine, GeneRally plays from a top-down perspective. It has a similar art design to games such as Super Sprint and Slicks 'N' Slide.

It is a top-down 2D racing game for the Sega Dreamcast and Wii similar to Micro Machines, an easy to pick up and play and hard to master type of racer.

3D Pixel Racing is an arcade-style racing game developed by Vidia and released in 2011. The game was released as a downloadable game on WiiWare and in the App Store for iOS devices. 3D Pixel Racing heavily capitalizes on its graphical uniqueness. Unlike most 3D games, every object in 3D Pixel Racing is made of multi-colored voxels that are reminiscent of old 8-bit games from the 1970s and 80's.
