Chandrashekhar H. Vijayashankar (born 21 October 1956) is an Indian politician who is currently serving as the 21st Governor of Meghalaya. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He previously served as a cabinet minister in the government of Karnataka holding the Forest,ecology &environment department from 2009 to 2011. [2]
He was also a member of the 14th Lok Sabha of India where he represented the Mysore constituency of Karnataka. He was elected member of Karnataka legislative assembly from Hunsur in 1994. In 1998,he was elected to the 12th Lok Sabha from Mysore Lok Sabha constituency.
He was re-elected to Mysore Lok Sabha constituency in 2004 against Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar,who was the prince of Mysore Kingdom and head of the Wadiyar dynasty that ruled the Kingdom of Mysore between 1399 and 1950.
He unsuccessfully contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Hassan constituency in 2014 as a Bharatiya Janata Party candidate against former Prime Minister H. D. Deve Gowda.
He was a member of the Karnataka Legislative Council from 15 June 2010 till the end of his tenure in Jan 2016.
He resigned from Bharatiya Janata Party and joined Indian National Congress in October 2017. [3] He rejoined Bharatiya Janta Party in November 2019. [4]
President Droupadi Murmu has appointed Vijayashankar as Governor of Meghalaya on 27 June 2024. [5]

He is the son of former prime minister of India &former Chief Minister of Karnataka H. D. Deve Gowda.
Ramesh Chandappa Jigajinagi is an Indian politician from Karnataka and currently a member of Lok Sabha. He was Union Minister of State for Drinking Water and Sanitation in 2016. He was member of the Twelfth,Thirteenth,Fourteenth,Fifteenth and Sixteenth Lok Sabha. He was inducted into PM,Narendra Modi's government as a Minister of State for Drinking Water &Sanitation on July 5,2016. He represents the Bijapur constituency (2019-2024) and is currently a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party which he joined in 2002. Jagadish Shivappa Shettar is an Indian politician,who served as the 15th Chief Minister of Karnataka from 2012 to 2013. He is currently serving as Member of Karnataka Legislative Council. Santosh Kumar Gangwar is an Indian politician currently serving as the Governor of Jharkhand. He is a former Minister of State with independent charge in the Ministry of Labour and Employment in the Government of India. He was a Member of Parliament,former minister of state in Government of India and a leader of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He has been Member of Parliament for the city of Bareilly since 1989 till date. He was also the chief whip of the party in 14th Lok Sabha. He faced defeat in the 15th Lok Sabha Elections,2009 by a very narrow margin by Praveen Singh Aron. Gangwar was the chairman of the Public Accounts Committee in 2009. He has been elected as Member of Parliament in 16th Lok Sabha. He won by a margin of over 2.4 lakh votes over his rival candidate in 2014 general election. He resigned from the post of cabinet minister ahead of the cabinet reshuffle in July 2021. He is formerly the Chairperson of the Committee on Public Undertakings.
Gowdara Mallikarjunappa Siddeshwara is an Indian politician. He was a former member of the Lok Sabha,the lower House of the Indian Parliament,representing Davangere of Karnataka since 2004. Siddeshwara served as the Union Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises and prior to that,as Minister of State for Civil Aviation,till he resigned from the Ministry after a few days of cabinet reshuffle in July 2016.
