The Communications Security Establishment, formerly called the Communications Security Establishment Canada (CSEC), is the Government of Canada's national cryptologic agency. It is responsible for foreign signals intelligence (SIGINT) and communications security (COMSEC), protecting federal government electronic information and communication networks, and is the technical authority for cyber security and information assurance.
The On-to-Ottawa Trek was a mass protest movement in Canada in 1935 sparked by unrest among unemployed single men in federal relief camps principally in Western Canada. The trek started in Vancouver and, picking up reinforcements along the way, was conducted by riding traincars eastward. The trek was stopped in Regina where on July 1, 1935, police dispersed it with loss of life and mass arrests.

The Aberdeen Pavilion is an exhibition hall in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Overlooking the Rideau Canal, it is located in Lansdowne Park, Ottawa's historic fairgrounds. For many years, the building was known as the "Cattle Castle", due to its use for the Central Canada Exhibition's agricultural exhibits and shows. It is the last surviving Canadian example of what was once a common form of Victorian exhibition hall, and was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1983.
Ottawa SuperEX was an eleven-day annual exhibition that took place every August at Lansdowne Park in Ottawa, Ontario. The exhibition provided exhibits, entertainment and amusements indoors in the buildings on site and outdoors on the grounds. The Central Canada Exhibition Association operated a fair annually from 1888 until 2010, except during World War II. The fair was on hiatus due to plans to redevelop Lansdowne Park and the Association continued to work towards finding opportunities to bring back SuperEX. It was announced in December 2015 that the Ottawa SuperEX board had disbanded a year earlier and the Ex would not be returning.

Międzynarodowy Salon Przemysłu Obronnego is the largest trade fair event dedicated to military equipment in Central and Eastern Europe and one of the largest in the world. Established in 1993, it is held every year in September at Targi Kielce in Kielce, Poland. The exhibition brings together over 600 exhibitors from over 30 countries and attracts more than 19,000 visitors annually. The MSPO showcases the latest military technologies, armaments and products for the army. This four-day trade fair is attended by the professionals, who represent Polish Army, the Police, the Ministry of National Defence, the Ministry of Interior and Administration, and Polish Government. The event is visited by the world’s largest defense industry powers, such as: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, India, Israel, Italy, Korea, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Turkey, Ukraine, and the United States. The International Defence Industry Exhibition is held together with the International Logistics Fair LOGISTYKA. LOGISTYKA displays wide range of products, ranging from uniforms, food products and equipment used for meal preparation to storage and transport, medical equipment, communications and IT systems and electronic engineering solutions.
The International Plowing Match (IPM), held annually in Ontario, is North America's largest outdoor agricultural and rural expo. It is usually held in late September, and usually attracts more than 80,000 visitors over the 5-day event. Each International Plowing Match takes years of planning and months of labour to prepare. It has several attractions, including the plow fields, Tent City, and the RV park. A transportation network of tractors and wagons carries visitors to and from different areas of the site. The IPM is organized and run by the Ontario Plowmen's Association (OPA).
A series of protests and blockades in Canada against COVID-19 vaccine mandates and restrictions, called the Freedom Convoy by organizers, began in early 2022. The initial convoy movement was created to protest vaccine mandates for crossing the United States border, but later evolved into a protest about COVID-19 mandates in general. Beginning January 22, hundreds of vehicles formed convoys from several points and traversed Canadian provinces before converging on Ottawa on January 29, 2022, with a rally at Parliament Hill. The convoys were joined by thousands of pedestrian protesters. Several offshoot protests blockaded provincial capitals and border crossings with the United States.
