CGM (an initialism for Cherish God More, Constantly Getting Money, Certified Grove Members etc.), is a British UK drill collective based in Ladbroke Grove, London specifically the Portobello Estate. They were formerly known as 1011, named after the W10 and W11 postal codes. [2] They are considered to be one of the pioneers of the UK drill scene. [3]

History

In 2015, Digga D formed the UK drill group 1011 along with his friends in a local youth club in Ladbroke Grove. [3] [4] They released several singles from 2016 to 2017 including: "Kill Confirmed", "Play for the Pagans", and "No Hook". [3] The group has since been banned from making music together and later rebranded as CGM, an acronym for Cherish God More, Constantly Getting Money, Certified Grove Members etc. [3] [5] [6]

Former members

On 9 November 2017, Digga D and members of 1011 were arrested in a stop and search in which they were carrying machetes and baseball bats. [16] [4] 1011 claimed they were making a drill music video, but police stated they were planning to attack a rival gang, 12World. [4] Digga and 1011 were convicted of conspiracy to commit violent disorder, sentenced to a year in jail, and was given a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) in 2018 that required the group to have the Metropolitan Police's permission before releasing any new music, forbade them from using London postcodes, and banning references in lyrics to real-life incidents and people. Four of the group's music videos prior to the CBO were taken down, however, they were noted to have amassed over ten million combined views before removal. [3] [17]

The CBO ban issued to 1011 was condemned by the campaign group Index on Censorship and widely described as entirely unprecedented. [2] Digga's lawyer noted that the CBO "gives the police and probation the ability to control and censor his art." The Metropolitan Police has since denied it was censorship. [6] Det Ch Supt Kevin Southworth said at the time: "When in this instance you see a particular genre of music being used specifically to goad, to incite, to provoke, to inflame, that can only lead to acts of very serious violence being committed, that’s when it becomes a matter for the police. We're not in the business of killing anyone's fun, we're not in the business of killing anyone's artistic expression - we are in the business of stopping people being killed." [6] [18]

UK drill is a subgenre of drill music and road rap that originated in the South London district of Brixton from 2012 onwards. While being sonically distinct from Chicago drill music, it embraces its aesthetic and melds it with road rap, a British style of gangsta rap that became popular in the years prior to the existence of drill. UK drill lyrical content tends to be truculent, depicting the harsh realism of their lifestyles. The explicit lyricism has stimulated discussion about whether the subgenre is a factor in an increase in knife crime in London. Gang affiliation and socioeconomically-deprived backgrounds are common amongst UK drill artists.

Zone 2 is a British hip hop collective based in Peckham, London. The group has gained millions of views and streams through their music on YouTube and streaming platforms. The group is noteworthy for its rivalry with Moscow17. The rivalry began around 2016 and has resulted in various diss tracks between the two groups, as well as physical violence.

Harlem Spartans, often abbreviated to HS, also known as Harlem O or simply Harlem, is a British hip hop collective based in Kennington, London. Members of Harlem Spartans have acquired over 100 million streams through their music. The name, "Harlem", is a nickname for their local area of Kennington. The police allege that Harlem Spartans is a gang, however this is denied by the group.

It features guest appearances from Still Brickin', Rack5, Dodgy, Horrid1, AJ Tracey, and Maverick Sabre, and American rappers B-Lovee, Moneybagg Yo, and Hotboii. The extended edition adds a further guest appearance from Arrdee. The mixtape debuted atop the UK Albums Chart, becoming Digga D's first number-one album.

Bradley Robert Moss, known professionally as Ghosty, is a British record producer and DJ. He is regarded as one of the UK's best producers in the country's music industry. He gained widespread recognition in the UK music scene after he produced Digga D's "No Diet" in 2019, which peaked at number 20 on the UK Singles Chart and was later included on Double Tap Diaries. Other notable projects he has produced are Central Cee's "Molly" and 22Gz's mixtape Growth and Development.

Back to Square One is the fourth commercial mixtape by British rapper Digga D. It was released on 23 August 2023 by his record label Black Money Records. It features guest appearances from Potter Payper and M Huncho.

<i>Blood Diamond</i> (album) 2024 studio album by Unknown T

Blood Diamond is the debut full-length studio album by British UK drill rapper Unknown T, released through A Stay Solid Music and Island Records on 12 January 2024. The album is a follow-up to his debut EP, Before the Smoke released in August 2023. The album features guest appearances from 98s, Digga D, Knucks, Loyle Carner, Odumodublvck, Scribz Riley and Tiana Major9, and includes production from AyeTM, Beat Butcha, Chucks, Jae5, Sean Murdz, alongside several other producers.
