CLG Naomh Muire is a Gaelic football only GAA club based in Mullaghderg, County Donegal, Ireland, and serves the lower Rosses area. The club fields both men's and ladies' teams at underage to senior level.
As of 2022, the club competes in the Donegal Intermediate Championship.
The club was formed in 1980.
Tony Doherty (Antóin Ó Dochartaigh) of Rann na Feirste was a co-founder. [1] Ó Dochartaigh also acted as field liner, kit man, referee, linesman and trainer at various stages and also served as secretary and treasurer of the club. [1] He led the vote to acquire floodlights for the club's facilities. [1]
The club twice won the All-Ireland Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta, in 2007 and 2011. [2]
The club won the 2013 Donegal Intermediate Football Championship, defeating St Naul's in the final. [3]
Jack O'Brien played for Donegal in the 2016 National Football League semi-final against Dublin at Croke Park. [4] [5]
Former Donegal selector Gary Boyle is from the club. [6]

The Rosses is a traditional 'district' in the west of County Donegal in Ulster, the northern province in Ireland. The Rosses has a population of over 7,000 centred on the town of Dungloe, which acts as the educational, shopping and civic centre for the area. Defined by physical boundaries in the form of rivers, as well as history and language use, the area has a distinctive identity, separate from the rest of County Donegal. The extensive district lies between the parish and district of Gweedore to the north and the town of Glenties to the south. A large part of the Rosses is in the Gaeltacht, which means that Irish is the spoken language. The Rosses, Cloughaneely and Gweedore, known locally as "the three parishes", with 16,000 Irish speakers, together form a social and cultural region different from the rest of the county, with Gweedore serving as the main centre for socialising and industry. Gaeltacht an Láir is another Irish-speaking area.

Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta is an annual All Ireland Gaelic football competition contested by clubs from the Irish language-speaking Gaeltacht areas of Ireland. Clubs compete on a county-basis at first, in order to qualify for the tournament that is hosted by a different club from the Gaeltacht each year. The first competition was held in Gweedore, County Donegal in 1969 and was won by the local club CLG Ghaoth Dobhair. RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta provides radio coverage of both the regional qualifiers and the national finals, held over the June Bank Holiday. TG4 provides live television coverage of the men's semi-finals and finals on the June Bank Holiday Sunday and Monday, and these are also broadcast online.

The community of West Donegal bade farewell on Monday to a GAA great when Tony Doherty (Antóin Ó Dochartaigh) of Rann na Feirste was laid to rest in Annagry's new cemetery following funeral Mass in Star of the Sea Church… His life was steeped in that of his local CLG Naomh Muire and his contribution to the success of the Lower Rosses club matches no other. When one thought of CLG Naomh Muire, the name of Tony Doherty was to the fore, a man who dedicated his life in recent decades to the club… If Tony's playing days are remembered, it is as a GAA organiser that marks him[sic] as a truly outstanding servant to the association, Rann na Feirste and in particular to Naomh Muire Íochtar Na Rosann, a club he co-founded… The rest of the week could see him attend county board or southern board meetings or transporting players to county minor trials in either the famous green VW beetle or the yellow Opel Kadett… Only a few years back when the question of floodlights emerged, some felt Tony would baulk at the six-figure sum being mentioned, but at a club meeting he led the vote for the decision to borrow and to invest in the lights… He will be remembered for all he gave to the advancement and development of music and sport in his native parish, and indeed in the wider Rosses where he was to the fore with underage football in the Rosses Rovers days. Tony was a one man show when it came to organising football in the Lower Rosses. He was taxi man, kit man, gate-man, linesman, field liner, referee, trainer, treasurer, secretary, maintenance man.

However, [Naomh Conaill manager Martin] Regan has recruited Naomh Muire clubman and former Donegal selector Gary Boyle while Shay Murrin is back in the mix this year.
Naomh Mhuire representative Cormac McGarvey said that the clubs had been trying to sort out the boundary dispute for 31 years. 'That's longer than Osama bin Laden was hiding out. He was only hiding out for ten years, this has been going on for 31 years', he said.
Danny O'Donnell has returned to club management after agreeing to take charge of his native Naomh Muire in 2022. O'Donnell previously managed Naomh Muire for five seasons and led them to the Intermediate championship in 2013. He also helped the club secure promotion to Division 2 and they won the All-Ireland Junior Gaeltacht title in 2011… Tom McHugh will be O'Donnell's Assistant Manager at the Banks, while Declan Martin is also involved, and Paul Fisher will be S & C coach.
O'Donnell managed Namoh Muire from 2009 to 2013, and enjoyed five successful seasons at the helm. They won an All-Ireland Junior Gaeltacht title in 2011, and two years later, secured the Intermediate Championship. After taking a couple of years out, O'Donnell then got involved with Milford, and also led them to Intermediate glory, and a place in the Senior Championship quarter-finals. He has coached at underage level with St Eunan's, and also dabbled in a bit of punditry in recent years… When O'Donnell stepped down nine years ago, Naomh Muire had a young and vibrant side. However, that team has been decimated with Hugh 'Yank' Boyle, Shaun 'Yank' Boyle, Paul 'Yank' Boyle, Adi O'Gara, Owen Grant, Darragh White, and Jack O'Brien all now living outside the country.
Danny O'Donnell has returned for a second stint in charge with Naomh Muire and they have been on an upward trajectory this season.
