Nashville Star is an American reality television singing competition program that aired for six seasons, from 2003 to 2008. Its first five seasons aired on USA Network, while the last season aired on NBC. Its five seasons on USA made it the longest-running competition series on cable television at the time. In Canada, the show aired on CMT through season 5, but moved to E! beginning with season 6. CMT in the United States reaired each episode in season 6.

Top 20 Countdown is a former chart countdown program on CMT revolving around popular country music videos. Hosted by Lance Smith through most of its run, it premiered weekly on Friday mornings, with several reruns through the weekend and Monday, launching on January 3, 2001; a previous weekly countdown show through CMT's early years featured a countdown of only twelve popular videos. The first episode was the top 20 videos of 2001. Smith departed the series at the end of 2009, with Evan Farmer taking over from then until November 2012; the remainder of the series' run was either unhosted or had guest hosts.
The Academy of Country Music Awards, also known as the ACM Awards, were first held in 1966, honoring the industry's accomplishments during the previous year. It was the first country music awards program held by a major organization. The Academy's signature "hat" trophy was first created in 1968. The awards were first televised in 1972 on ABC. In 1979, the Academy joined with Dick Clark Productions to produce the show. Dick Clark and Al Schwartz served as producers while Gene Weed served as director. Under their guidance, the show moved to NBC and finally to CBS, where it aired until 2021.

The album was recorded in three separate studios, Starstuck Studios in Nashville, Texas, Maratone Studios in Stockholm, Sweden, and Gemano Studios in New York City. Play On was produced by Mark Bright who also produced Underwood's "Carnival Ride" and seven other songs off of Some Hearts.

The Big Revival Tour presented by Corona Light was the fourteenth headlining concert tour by American country music artist Kenny Chesney, in support of his sixteenth studio album The Big Revival (2014). Ten of the shows were merged with Jason Aldean's Burn It Down Tour. Eric Church co-headlined five of them with Chesney while Miranda Lambert co-headlined the show at Soldier Field in Chicago. This was the biggest country music concert tour of 2015 and the second-ranked North American one of the year, after grossing over $116.4 million.
