Background

Ericdoa had been around on the internet for quite some time, and became a rising star in hyperpop, [1] differentiating himself throughout his amorphous tracks often filled with glitching and distorted vocals. [2] Following the release of the mixtape Public Target, [3] [4] Eric quickly followed up with COA, which was later released through Interscope Records. [5] The album addresses themes of heartbreak, [6] and the cover art was shot in BDSM dungeon. [2]

Critical reception

Mano Sundaresan of Pitchfork said that the album was "thrilling," full of smoking angst, it feels symbolic of the moods and textures that this scene intends to seize. [6]

Track listing

All tracks are written by Eric Lopez (Ericdoa), with additional writers noted.
