The University of Victoria (UVic) is a public research university located in the municipalities of Oak Bay and Saanich, British Columbia, Canada. Established in 1903 as Victoria College, the institution was initially an affiliated college of McGill University until 1915. From 1921 to 1963, it functioned as an affiliate of the University of British Columbia. In 1963, the institution was reorganized into an independent university.
Vladimir Igorevich Arnold was a Soviet and Russian mathematician. He is best known for the Kolmogorov–Arnold–Moser theorem regarding the stability of integrable systems, and contributed to several areas, including geometrical theory of dynamical systems theory, algebra, catastrophe theory, topology, real algebraic geometry, symplectic geometry, symplectic topology, differential equations, classical mechanics, differential geometric approach to hydrodynamics, geometric analysis and singularity theory, including posing the ADE classification problem.

Europe-Asia Studies is an academic peer-reviewed journal published 10 times a year by Routledge on behalf of the Institute of Central and East European Studies, University of Glasgow, and continuing the journal Soviet Studies, which was renamed after the dissolution of the Soviet Union. The journal focuses on political, economic and social affairs of the countries of the former Soviet bloc and their successors, as well as their history in the 20th century. Both Europe-Asia Studies and Soviet Studies are available online with subscription via JSTOR from 1949 to 2016 with a 7-year moving wall. Johnny Golding is Professor of Philosophy & Fine Art, and senior tutor at the Royal College of Art, London, UK. Golding's work deals with the onto-epistemological nuances of radical matter: artificial and distributed intelligence, embodiment, and the ethical-political. Golding is Philosopher-in-Residence at the Royal Academy, London (2019). Golding also leads the PHD Research Lab: Entanglement, which includes 25 PHD researchers; co-led with artist Meg Rahaim. Most recently the lab-produced: 'Entanglement: Just Gaming' - a mixed-media approach to consciousness, poetics, warfare, and risk set across several social platforms. From 2012-16, Johnny was Director of the Centre for Fine Art Research (CFAR) at Birmingham School of Art, and from 2009-2012 Director of the Institute for the Converging Arts and Sciences (ICAS) at the University of Greenwich and Head of Theory at the Jan van Eyck Akademie in Maastricht (1998–2003)..

Rachel Hope Cleves is an American-Canadian historian, best known for her 2014 book Charity and Sylvia: A Same-Sex Marriage in Early America. The book, a study of historical documents concerning the same-sex relationship of Charity Bryant and Sylvia Drake in the 19th century, was a shortlisted Lambda Literary Award nominee for LGBT Studies at the 27th Lambda Literary Awards.
Astrid Brousselle is a Canadian professor specializing in evaluation theories and methods in health and healthcare system analysis. Since 2017, she has been at the University of Victoria as a director and professor, in the School of Public Administration.
Troubling the Line: Trans and Genderqueer Poetry and Poetics a collection of poetry by transgender and genderqueer writers, edited by TC Tolbert and Trace Peterson. The collection itself contains some of the works by 55 different poets along with a "poetics statement", a reflection by each poet that provides context for their work. The book was published in 2013 by Nightboat Books. The collection was reviewed by Stephanie Burt on Poetry Foundation's website. It has been called "the first-ever collection of poetry by trans and genderqueer poets." An earlier anthology, “Of Souls and Roles, Of Sex and Gender," was compiled by trans activist Rupert Raj between 1982 and 1991, but remains available only in manuscript form at The ArQuives: Canada's LGBQT2+ Archives and at the Transgender Archives, University of Victoria.
