The California State University Employees Union (CSUEU)/SEIU 2579 is a labor union representing approximately 16,000 healthcare, operations, administrative and technical support staff at the California State University's 23 campuses and the Office of the Chancellor. CSUEU, representing Bargaining Units 2, 5, 7, 9, and 13, is affiliated with the Service Employees International Union [1] and the California State Employees Association. [2]

On February 23, 2024, the California Public Employee Relations Board (PERB) announced that Student Assistants employed at the 23 CSU Campuses and the Chancellor's Office had voted to join CSUEU. [3] [4] Pending final certification expected on March 4, 2024, CSUEU will represent nearly 20,000 additional Student Employees employed by the CSU. [4] This will bring the total number of employees represented by CSUEU up to approximately 36,000.
