The Auxiliary Organizations Association (AOA) is a supraorganization consisting of member organizations which are auxiliaries to the 23 campuses in the California State University system. There are over 90 member organizations including foundations, students' unions, student governments, and other corporations.
A supraorganization is an organization whose members or stakeholders are organizations rather than individuals and which performs an overarching function.
The California State University is a public university system in California. With 23 campuses and eight off-campus centers enrolling 484,300 students with 26,858 faculty and 25,305 staff, CSU is the largest four-year public university system in the United States. It is one of three public higher education systems in the state, with the other two being the University of California system and the California Community Colleges System. The CSU System is incorporated as The Trustees of the California State University. The California State University system headquarters are in Long Beach, California.
A students' union, student's council, student government, free student union, student senate, students' association, guild of students, or government of student body is a student organization present in many colleges, universities, and high schools. In higher education, the students' union is often accorded its own building on the campus, dedicated to social, organizational activities, representation, and academic support of the membership.
The member organizations are hybrid organizations, in that they are 501(c)(3) corporations that provide services to state university campuses, which are public agencies. They are subject both to California Corporations Code and to the California Education Code as well as the policies of the California State University and their individual campus.

Associated Students, Chico (AS.) is the student government at California State University, Chico. With assets of over $19 million and annual revenue over $20 million, Associated Students, Chico is one of the largest non-profit organizations in Northern California Associated Students, Chico is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public-benefit corporation with 17,488 members. The organization owns and operates several student services on-campus including all vending machines, and foodservices, as well as the campus bookstore. The students of CSU Chico also own their own student union building named the Bell Memorial Union which houses the Marketplace Cafe, the AS Bookstore, and the student government offices.
Capital Public Radio is the public radio service of California State University, Sacramento. It consists of two full-power stations and five repeaters, all members of National Public Radio. It is the NPR member for Sacramento and much of the surrounding area, including Stockton and Modesto.
The Santos Manuel Student Union is a student union located near the geographical the center of California State University, San Bernardino's campus, just east of John M Pfau Library. The Santos Manuel Student Union leads into the heart of the CSUSB campus and is located near many buildings, including University Hall, College of Education, student health center and Serrano Village dormitories in addition to being close to administrative services.
Lambda Sigma Gamma Sorority, Incorporated (ΛΣΓ) was founded on the campus of the Alpha chapter, California State University, Sacramento, in 1986.
The California State Student Association, also known as the Cal State Student Association, is an "unincorporated income tax exempt association". CSSA is exempt from taxation under Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code and it is exempt from state franchise or income tax under California Revenue and Taxation Code Section 23701d. CSSA is registered with the California Attorney General’s Registry of Charitable Trusts.
The California State University police departments(CSUPD) in the California State University system are referred to as campus police, or university police, the police officers are duly sworn peace officers of the State of California, as established by section 830.2(c) of the California Penal Code. There are a total of 23 campuses in the California State University system, each with their own police department. Each campus' police department is actually quite independent of the other, as each has its own chain of command, however some of the policies are system-wide. When situations arise on a campus that require more police than the individual department can handle, other campus departments can send mutual aid officers to help.
