The Canadian Half Marathon Championships is the annual national championships for the half marathon in Canada sanctioned by Athletics Canada.

Contents

The event is currently hosted by the Manitoba Marathon weekend, which is awarded hosting duties from 2019 through 2024. [1] It was previously hosted by the Calgary Marathon weekend [2] and the Banque Scotia 21K de Montréal. [3]

The 2018 championships hosted by the Calgary Half Marathon was won by Calgarian Trevor Hofbauer. [4]

The Manitoba Marathon weekend consists of a marathon, half marathon, marathon relay, 10 km race, and 2.6 mile fun run. The marathon was first run in the City of Winnipeg in 1979 and has generally been held annually on Father's Day since then. In 2019, about 10,000 runners in total participated over the weekend, including 655 who finished the marathon.

Cameron Levins is a Canadian long-distance runner. He won the bronze medal in the 10,000 metres at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. He is the North American record holder for the marathon and the Canadian record holder for the half marathon.
