The Canadian Paper Money Society (CPMS) is a non-profit numismatic organization for collectors of Canadian paper money, including government and private bank issues, municipal scrip, stocks, bonds, and other forms of payment. It has members throughout Canada, the United States and in other countries. [1]

The CPMS has its annual executive and general meetings at the RCNA convention each year.[ citation needed ]

Newsletter and journal

The CPMS journal is published quarterly and contains current information such as the particulars of its affairs, registers of various banknotes, papers and studies on banknotes and other subjects, etc.[ citation needed ]

As needed for lengthy article submission, the CPMS publishes an occasional papers journal containing papers on banknotes and related studies by members and others and articles on various subjects in which the Society has an interest.[ citation needed ]

The Royal Canadian Numismatic Association was founded in 1950. It is a nonprofit association for coin collectors and other people interested in Canadian numismatics. It has members throughout Canada and in other countries. At times, it also works with the Canadian Association for Numismatic Education (CAFNE), an arms length organization, which is defined by the CRA as a Canadian educational and charitable organization. CAFNE provides funding for some of the RCNA's educational seminars and publications.

Cotton paper, also known as rag paper or rag stock paper, is made using cotton linters or cotton from used cloth (rags) as the primary material. Prior to the mid-19th century, cotton paper was the main form of paper produced, with pulp paper replacing cotton paper as the main paper material during the 19th century. Although pulp paper was cheaper to produce, its quality and durability is significantly lower. Although pulp-paper quality improved significantly over the 20th century, cotton paper continues to be more durable, and consequently important documents are often printed on cotton paper. Different grades of cotton paper can be produced.

Chandrashekhar Dubey commonly referred to as C. S. Dubey was an Indian actor and radio personality. He was born in Kannod and appeared in over 150 Hindi films as a character actor starting in 1950s, with Patita (1953) and Mr. & Mrs. '55 (1955). He became famous for his one-liner "Dhakkan khol ke" in the film, Zinda Dil (1975), which he later used in his radio programs, as a suffix with almost every sentence.

Birds of Canada is the fifth series of banknotes of the Canadian dollar issued by the Bank of Canada and was first circulated in 1986 to replace the 1969 Scenes of Canada series. Each note features a bird indigenous to Canada in its design. The banknotes weigh 1 gram with dimensions of 152.40 by 69.85 millimetres. It was succeeded by the 2001 Canadian Journey series.
