Aramil (Siero)

Aramil is a Spanish parroquia of Siero, in Asturias. It has a population of 347 inhabitants in 173 homes. It occupies an area of 1.83 square kilometres (0.71 sq mi). It is located 5 km from the capital, Pola de Siero, in the eastern part of the council. It has a boundary on the northwest with the parish of Marcenado and Collado; to the east with Feleches; and to the south and southwest with Santa Eulalia de Vigil. The Romanesque church of Church of San Esteban de Aramil is located in the town.

The 2017 Vuelta a Asturias was the 60th edition of the Vuelta a Asturias cycling stage race, that took place over three stages from 29 April to 1 May 2017. It was held as part of the 2017 UCI Europe Tour. The defending champion was Hugh Carthy, but Carthy did not defend his title as he had moved to the Cannondale–Drapac squad that was not invited to the race.

Sport in Asturias has always been dominated by football. Other popular sport activities include basketball, cycling, handball, volleyball, roller hockey and rugby union. Asturias has also hosted a number of international events such as group stage games during the 1982 FIFA World Cup, series of the Davis Cup World Group, international roller hockey competitions, several cycling states of La Vuelta and several matches of the Spain national football team.
