The women's K-4 500 metres canoeing event at the 2015 Pan American Games was held on July 11 at the Welland Pan Am Flatwater Centre in Welland.^[1]^[2] The defending Pan American Games champion are Kathleen Fraser, Kristin Gauthier, Alexa Irvin and Una Lounder of Canada.

Canoe sprint is a sport in which athletes race canoes or kayaks on calm water.

The 2015 Pan American Games, officially the XVII Pan American Games and commonly known as the Toronto 2015 Pan-Am Games, were a major international multi-sport event celebrated in the tradition of the Pan American Games, as governed by Pan American Sports Organization (PASO). The games were held from July 10 to 26, 2015 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada; preliminary rounds in certain events began on July 7, 2015. These were the third Pan American games hosted by Canada, and the first in the province of Ontario. The Games were held at venues in Toronto and seventeen other Golden Horseshoe communities. The Pan American Games and 2015 Parapan American Games were organized by the Toronto Organizing Committee for the 2015 Pan and Parapan American Games (TO2015).

The women's K-4 500 metres canoeing event at the 2011 Pan American Games was held on October 26 at the Canoe & Rowing Course in Ciudad Guzman. The defending Pan American Games champion is Darisleydis Amador, Yulitza Meneses, Lianet Álvarez and Dayexi Gandarela of Cuba.

Qualification

The top five boats including the host nation of Canada at the 2014 Pan American Championships in Mexico City, Mexico qualified to compete at the games. All other countries that competed, qualified through the reallocation process.^[3]^[4]
