The Canon Challenge was a golf tournament held in Australia between 1993 and 2001. Prize money was A$250,000 in 1993, A$300,000 in 1994 and $350,000 in 1995.

In 2001 Paul Gow set an Australasian tour record with a first-round score of 60. [1]

Peter Ian Faulkner is an Australian former first-class cricketer who played for Tasmania. An allrounder, he took over 100 wickets and made over 2000 runs in his first-class career. He never played for Australia although he toured South Africa in 1985/86 and 1986/87 with the rebel Australian XI and he was selected in an Australian one day squad during the 1984-85 summer, and toured Zimbabwe with an Australian Under 25 side.

The Kirin Open was a golf tournament in Japan. It was founded in 1972 as the season ending event on the Asia Golf Circuit, replacing the Yomiuri International which had been cancelled when sponsors decided to discontinue the event. It was also a fixture on the Japan Golf Tour from 1974 until 2001.

Patrick Burke is an American professional golfer who played on the PGA Tour in the 1990s. His best result on the tour was when he tied for third place in the 1996 B.C. Open. He won twice on the PGA Tour of Australasia in 1994.
