Canterbury were an English rock band, formed in Basingstoke, Hampshire, in 2005. The band consisted of guitarist and vocalist Mike Sparks, bassist and vocalist Luke Prebble, guitarist James Pipe and drummer Chris Velissarides.
Canterbury was founded in 2005, by Ben Bishop, James Pipe and Luke Prebble, who all attended the same college (Lord Wandsworth College in Hook, Hampshire). They were later joined by Mike Sparks after he left his previous band. The line up was completed by fellow Music Tech classmate Scott Peters in early 2007. They spent their remaining few years of education writing songs for what would eventually become their first album four years later in 2009. After leaving college they began to take the band more seriously, touring all around the United Kingdom and promoting themselves through social-media formats, including Facebook and Myspace.
After leaving college, they began touring relentlessly for the next four years playing hundreds of shows around the UK and Ireland. Starting off in opening slots for anyone who would have them, they progressed to slots on much higher-profile UK-wide tours with groups including The Automatic, [2] Enter Shikari, Against Me, Twin Atlantic, You Me at Six and We Are The Ocean. In May 2009, the band released a music video for the first single "Eleven, Twelve". The release went alongside their support of Billy Talent in October of that year. [4]
On 23 November 2009, Canterbury released their debut album Thank You. The album was recorded by the band across November and December 2007. The delayed release was based on them wanting to build a fan base before releasing the album. [5] The band decided they would put the album up for free download via their website and encourage people to promote the album. When asked about why the band released it for free, Prebble said, "I don't think you can really expect to make people pay for a single or an album if you're a very small band." [6] The album was downloaded over 3,000 times in the first three days of release. [7]
The band began a headline tour to support the album in February 2010 with The Hot Melts and This City. [5] On 26 February 2010, the band released a new single "Gloria" for free download. [3]
The band's touring schedule was a lot smaller in 2011 as they spent a lot of the time recording their second studio album. [8] Since the release of Thank You they have been working on a follow-up, releasing an EP on iTunes containing three songs. Their first EP Calm Down was released on 25 October 2010 and contained three tracks: "Calm Down", "Trainers" and "Your Face is in HD". [3] This was followed up a year later on 31 October 2011 with More Than Know, their second three-track EP featuring the songs "More than Know", "Routine" and "Lost in the Basement".
To coincide with the new year they released the single "Ready Yet?" on 16 January 2012. [8]
On 25 April 2012, the band announced the name, release date, album art and track list of their second studio album, Heavy in the Day, via their website along with a release party on 19 July at the Barfly in Camden, London. The album was released on 9 July and features new material alongside songs previously released as singles. [9] The album was recorded in Devon and produced by Peter Miles [10] and released through Sweet Lime Records with a single titled "Saviour" released ahead on 25 June. [11]
In January and February 2012 they toured the UK on a headline tour with support from Proxies. In November 2012, the band were the main support band on Deaf Havana's biggest headline tour to date in the UK and in late November through to mid-December 2012 they embarked upon a headline tour of their own in support of Heavy in the Day with support from Mallory Knox and Scholars.
On 8 April, the band announced news of their new album via their Twitter and Facebook accounts via the Pledge Music project. At the same time Hassle Records announced their signing of Canterbury.
Canterbury parted ways with their drummer Scott Peters in May 2013. He was replaced by ex All Forgotten member Chris Velissarides.
On 13 January 2014 the band released their new album, Dark Days, celebrated with an acoustic session at Banquet Records the night before and a launch show at The Hospital Club. On 19 January 2014, Dark Days reached no.1 on the UK Official Charts Rock albums [12] and reached to no. 84 on the UK Official Album chart. [13] On 1 October 2014 the band announced that they would not be continuing to make music in the foreseeable future on their website. They announced their final three shows in Birmingham, Manchester and London for December. At this final show in London on 19 December, the band were rejoined by original members Ben Bishop and Scott Peters.

Generally considered a post-hardcore band as a whole, Fightstar are known to incorporate metal, alternative rock and other genres into their sound. During the band's early days, they were viewed sceptically by critics because of Simpson's former pop career with Busted. Their live shows got a more positive reaction, and their 2005 debut EP, They Liked You Better When You Were Dead, was a critical success.
Arctic Monkeys are an English rock band formed in Sheffield in 2002. The group consists of lead singer Alex Turner, drummer Matt Helders, guitarist Jamie Cook and bassist Nick O'Malley. Former bassist Andy Nicholson left the band in 2006 shortly after their debut album was released.
Enter Shikari are a British rock band formed in St Albans in 1999 by bassist Chris Batten, lead vocalist and keyboardist Rou Reynolds, and drummer Rob Rolfe. In 2003, guitarist Rory Clewlow joined the band to complete its current line-up, and it adopted its current name. In 2006, they performed to a growing fanbase at Download Festival as well as a sold-out concert at the London Astoria. Their debut studio album, Take to the Skies, was released in 2007 and reached number 4 in the Official UK Album Chart, and has since been certified gold in the UK. Their second, Common Dreads, was released in 2009 and debuted on the UK Albums Chart at number 16; while their third, A Flash Flood of Colour, was released in 2012 and debuted on the chart at number 4. Both have since been certified silver in the UK. The band spent a considerable amount of time supporting the latter release through the A Flash Flood of Colour World Tour, before beginning work on a fourth studio album, The Mindsweep, which was released in 2015. Their fifth studio album The Spark was released in 2017. Their sixth album Nothing Is True & Everything Is Possible was released in April 2020. Their seventh and latest album, A Kiss for the Whole World, was released on 21 April 2023 which gave them their first-ever No. 1 album.
The Automatic was a Welsh rock band. The band's last-known lineup was composed of Robin Hawkins on vocals, bass and synthesisers, James Frost on guitar, synthesisers, backing vocals and occasional bass, Iwan Griffiths on drums and Paul Mullen on vocals, guitar and synthesiser. Mullen joined after the departure of Alex Pennie, who provided synthesiser, percussion and vocals.

Fronted by lead singer Michael Starr, the band formed in 2000 as Metal Shop and was also known as Metal Skool before adopting the name Steel Panther in 2008. The band is known for its profane and humorous lyrics, and for parodying the stereotypical glam metal lifestyle.
Kids in Glass Houses are a Welsh rock band from Cardiff. The band's name was inspired by the lyrics "not throwing stones at you anymore" from the Glassjaw song "Tip Your Bartender". The band achieved success on the strength of the singles "Give Me What I Want" and "Saturday" off their debut album Smart Casual in 2008. The band released their second album Dirt in early 2010, releasing four singles, most notably "Matters at All". The band's third album, In Gold Blood, was released on 15 August 2011. Their fourth album, Peace, was released on 30 September 2013. The band announced their split in January 2014 and played their final show at Cardiff's Great Hall on October 31, 2014. The band announced their reunion on August 30, 2022.

Their second album Music for the People (2008) went to Number 2 on the UK Albums Chart. Streets in the Sky, their third studio album, was released on 21 May 2012 and was also their third UK top 10 album. Their fourth studio album, It's Automatic, was released on 9 October 2015. After disbanding in 2016, the band reunited in 2022 for two reunion shows in their hometown of Coventry and a UK tour.

They were also noted for not using a bassist and also supporting such bands as McFly, Scouting for Girls, hellogoodbye, Zebrahead and Bowling for Soup.

Breathe Carolina are an American electronic music duo from Denver, Colorado. The duo formed in 2007 consisting of David Schmitt and Kyle Even. They later expanded to a full band whose best-known lineup included Schmitt, Even, drummer Eric Armenta, keytarist Joshua Aragon and DJ Luis Bonet. In 2013, Even left the group, while Tommy Cooperman joined that year. Breathe Carolina is currently composed of Schmitt and Cooperman.
Young Guns are an English alternative rock band from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. The members, working with each other in various musical interests throughout the 2000s, formally formed the band in 2008, and rose to prominence after their debut EP, Mirrors, earned them spots opening live shows for Bon Jovi and Guns N' Roses. Their debut album, All Our Kings Are Dead, on 12 July 2010. Their second album, Bones, was released in February 2012. Their single "Bones" reached no. 1 on the Billboard Active Rock charts in the US in May 2013. Their third album, Ones and Zeros, was released on 9 June 2015. The band's fourth album, Echoes, was released on 16 September 2016.

Don Broco are a British rock band formed in Bedford, England, in 2008. The band consists of Rob Damiani, Simon Delaney (guitar), Tom Doyle and Matt Donnelly. The band have released four studio albums, including Priorities (2012), Automatic (2015) and Technology (2018). Their most recent album Amazing Things (2021) was their first to reach No.1 in the UK Album Charts.
The Blackout are a rock band from Merthyr Tydfil, Wales, formed in 2003. They released their EP The Blackout! The Blackout! The Blackout! In October 2007 the band released their debut album, We Are the Dynamite. Their second record, The Best in Town, was released on 25 May 2009 in Europe and 23 June 2009 in the US, both via Epitaph Records. The band's third album - titled Hope, was released on 4 April 2011, and charted at number 27 in the UK album chart. Their fourth studio album, titled Start the Party, was released on 21 January 2013. The Blackout's final release was a five track EP entitled Wolves, with their farewell tour held in early 2015, finishing in their hometown of Merthyr Tydfil on Saturday 28 March 2015.

The band currently consists of brothers Harry and Sam Koisser.The band began to receive critical acclaim in early 2012, from publications such as The Guardian and NME, who compared them to The Maccabees, Foals, Wu Lyf and Vampire Weekend. They were considered part of the B-Town movement, along with bands such as Swim Deep, Jaws and Superfood.
Mallory Knox were an English alternative rock band from Cambridge. In 2013, they released their debut album Signals which reached #33 in the UK album charts. Their second album Asymmetry was released on 27 October 2014 and reached #16 on UK Album Chart. They later released their third album Wired on 10 March 2017. Their fourth record, Mallory Knox, was released on 16 August 2019, after which they announced a farewell tour.
