Captain James Cook is a 1986 Australian mini series about the life of James Cook (1728-1779), a British explorer, navigator, cartographer, and captain in the British Royal Navy. [1]

Contents

The series was financed by $5 million from Revcom France, $2.25 million from the ABC and the rest from 10BA tax money. [2]

The Wiggles are an Australian children's music group formed in Sydney in 1991. As of 2022, the group members are Anthony Field, Lachlan Gillespie, Simon Pryce, Tsehay Hawkins, Evie Ferris, John Pearce, Caterina Mete and Lucia Field. The Wiggles were founded in 1991 by Field, Murray Cook, Jeff Fatt, Greg Page and Phillip Wilcher. Wilcher left the group after their first album. Page retired in 2006 due to ill health and was replaced by understudy Sam Moran, but returned in 2012, replacing Moran. At the end of 2012, Cook, Fatt and Page retired and were replaced by Gillespie, Pryce and Emma Watkins. Cook and Fatt retained their shareholding in the group and all three continued to have input into its creative and production aspects, while engaging in occasional reunion performances. Watkins departed the group in 2021, with Hawkins taking her place.

The 64th Regiment of Foot was an infantry regiment of the British Army. The regiment was created as the 2nd Battalion, 11th Regiment of Foot in 1756, redesignated as the 64th Regiment of Foot in 1758, and took a county title as the 64th Regiment of Foot in 1782. Following the Cardwell Reforms the regiment amalgamated with the 98th Regiment of Foot to become The Prince of Wales's in 1881. In the new regiment the 64th Foot became the 1st Battalion due to its seniority over the 98th Foot.

The 2010–11 Ashes series was the 66th series of Test cricket matches played to contest The Ashes. The series was played in Australia as part of the England cricket team's tour of the country during the 2010–11 season. Five Tests were played from 25 November 2010 to 7 January 2011. England won the series 3–1 and retained the Ashes, having won the previous series in 2009 by two Tests to one. It was the first time in 24 years that England had won the Ashes in Australia. As of 2023, it remains the most recent occasion that a visiting team has won an Ashes series, and the last time that England has won a Test series in Australia.

The Wiggles characters are a group of characters who perform with the Wiggles, the Australian children's music group. These characters were developed in the 1990s and were originally played by group members and by Anthony Field's brother Paul Field, the band's manager. Later in the group's history, the characters were played by hired actors dressed in the characters' costumes.

Hot Potatoes: The Best of the Wiggles is a compilation album by the Wiggles which features their greatest hits. The album was released on 7 May 2009. The album includes a track with James Burton on guitar and another track with Paul Hester on drums. Guest vocalists are Rolf Harris, Steve Irwin, Leo Sayer, Kylie Minogue, John Fogerty and Jamie Redfern. The CD version was released in 2009, while the DVD version was originally released in 2010 and re-released in 2014.

The Guilford County Regiment was authorized on September 9, 1775 by the Third North Carolina Provincial Congress. It was subordinate to the Salisbury District Brigade of militia. The regiment was engaged in battles and skirmishes against the British and Cherokee during the American Revolution in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia between 1776 and 1781. It was active until the end of the war.
