The Irish Open and originally known as the Irish Championships or Irish Lawn Tennis Championships, and for sponsorship reasons also known as Carroll's Irish Open Championships was a men's and women's tennis tournament held at the Fitzwilliam Lawn Tennis Club in Dublin, Ireland. Before the creation of the International Lawn Tennis Federation and the establishment of its world championship events in 1913, it was considered by players and historians one of the four most important tennis tournaments to win. the others being Wimbledon, the U.S. National championships and the Northern Championships. The men's event was part of the pre-open era tour from inception until 1967. It was then part of the open era non-aligned independent tour (1968–69). From 1970 to 1974, it was an event on the Grand Prix tennis circuit. The women's event was on the same tours as the men except for when it became part of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) Tour from 1971 to 1973. The men's edition was played until 1979, and the women's ended in 1983 when they both ceased to part of the top level world tennis circuit.
The Monte-Carlo Masters is an annual tennis tournament for male professional players held in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, France, which borders on Monaco. It is played on clay courts at the Monte Carlo Country Club and is held in May. The tournament is part of the nine ATP Tour Masters 1000 events on the ATP Tour. Rafael Nadal has won the men's singles title a record eleven times.
The Phoenix Thunderbird Open was a combined men's and women's tennis tournament founded in 1952 as Phoenix Thunderbird Championships Invitational. Also known as the Phoenix Thunderbird Invitational it continued as a joint event until 1970 when the men's event was discontinued. In 1971 the women's tournament was re branded as the Virginia Slims Thunderbird Classic that event continued until 1980.

The Wolverhampton Open was a combined men's and women's grass court tennis tournament founded in 1897 as the Wolverhampton Lawn Tennis Tournament. The first tournament was staged at Parkdale, Wolverhampton from 1897 to 1900 before it was discontinued in 1900. In 1903 a second tournament was revived and played in Newbridge, in Wolverhampton, where it ran until 1974.
The Sheffield and Hallamshire Championships was an open men's and women's international grass court tennis tournament founded in 1888 as the Sheffield and Hallamshire Tournament. The tournament was played at the Sheffield and Hallamshire Lawn Tennis Club (f.1885), Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England until 1976 when it was discontinued.
The Bio-Strath Circuit was a series tour of British tennis tournaments sponsored by the Swiss company Bio-Strath AG, a producer natural food supplements for sports people from 1970 to 1971. The circuit usually began in mid spring in April and ended in late summer in early August.
The West Warwickshire Open was a tennis tournament also known as the Hill Samuel Life Assurance West Warwickshire Open for sponsorship reasons. It began in 1970 and was staged at the West Warwickshire Sports Club (f.c1888), Solihull, Midlands, England. The tournament ran until 1981 when it was discontinued.
The Stourbridge Open also known as the Trophee Pernod Stourbridge for sponsorship reasons, was a mens and womens grass court tennis tournament founded in September 1887 as the Stourbridge Lawn Tennis Tournament, and first staged at the Stourbridge Cricket Club (f.1888) grounds, Stourbridge in what was then Worcestershire, but is now part of the West Midlands, England. This tournament has not had a continual history, being established then discontinued on four occasions. The last tournament took place in 1981.

The tournament was organised by the Droitwich Spa Lawn Tennis Club, and played at the Brine Baths Park, Droitwich Spa, Worcesteshire, England. The tournament ran until 1939 just before World War II then was discontinued.

It was played at the Cumberland Club, Hampstead, London, England until tournament ended in 1986.
The St. Annes Open also known as the St. Annes on Sea Open was a men's and women's grass court tennis tournament founded as in 1932. It was played at the St. Anne's Lawn Tennis Club, Lytham St Annes, Lancashire, England until the tournament ended in 1974.
The Durham and Cleveland Championships was a men's and women's grass court tennis tournament founded as in 1900 as the Durham County Association Tournament In 1903 that event became the Durham County Lawn Tennis Championships. It was first played at the Ashbrooke Sports Club Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, England until the tournament ended in 1982.
The Lanarkshire Open Tennis Championships also known simply as the Lanarkshire Championships was a men's and women's grass court tennis tournament founded in 1886 as the Championship of Lanarkshire It was first played at Hamilton Lawn Tennis Club, Hamilton, Lanarkshire, Scotland. The championships were part of the ILTF Circuit through till 1967. After which it became part of the Scottish LTA Circuit until 1999 when it was discontinued.
The Colwyn Bay Open and later known as the Colwyn Bay Open Hard Court Tennis Tournament was men's and women's grass court tennis tournament founded in 1886 as the Colwyn Bay Open Lawn Tennis Tournament. It was first played on Pwyllycrochan Park Estate, Colwyn Bay, Denbighshire, Wales. The tournament was staged annually until 1930 when it was discontinued. Following World War II the tournament was revived in 1949 and continued till 1959 when it was abolished.
The 1886 Women's tennis season was a tennis circuit composed of 57 national, regional, county, and regular tournaments. The season began in February in London, England, and ended in December in Napier, New Zealand.
Maria Cecilia "Beatrice" Langrishe was an Irish tennis player during the late 19th century. She was a singles finalist at the Irish Championships in 1883. She was active from 1879 to 1890 and won 2 career singles titles.
