Carina Lepore is a British businesswoman and media personality. She is best known for being the 15th winner of The Apprentice. After winning the show, Lepore entered into a 50:50 partnership with Lord Sugar with bakery business Dough Artisan Bakehouse. [1]

Early life

Lepore was a student at Harris City Academy Crystal Palace from 1998 to 2004, subsequently leaving education when she was 18. After leaving school, Lepore opened a fashion store in Croydon and later went onto to work for retailer Marks and Spencer for ten years. Lepore left her job at M&S in 2017 to join her father's bakery business in Herne Hill, following an incident which caused the site to burn down. [2] In an interview with The Times , Lepore said: "In large part to help Dad, who was at an all-time low." [3]

The Apprentice

In 2019, Lepore won the 15th series of British reality TV show The Apprentice . After winning the show, she entered into a 50:50 partnership with Lord Sugar, which ended in 2023 following a mutual agreement. He invested £250,000 into Lepore's bakery business. [1] [4] [5]

Lepore became the most successful Apprentice candidate in history, winning nine out of ten tasks and three of which as the project manager. [6]

After winning The Apprentice, Lepore told the Press Association , "It's like this euphoric relief. I was so overwhelmed and so happy. It's a feeling that I haven't really felt." [1]

Dough Artisan Bakehouse

On 8 September 2020, Lepore held a press launch for her second bakery which was opened in Beckenham in South East London. [7]

During the same month as the launch, a local newspaper reported police were called to Lepore's Beckenham bakery, following complaints raised by residents over a private party which disobeyed coronavirus regulations. [8]

It was reported that Lord Sugar parted ways with Lepore after nearly four years of being in business together. A spokesperson for Lord Sugar said: "Both parties agreed it was the right decision for the business moving forward, and Carina will take back full control of her business with immediate effect." [5]

Lee McQueen is a British entrepreneur and winner of series four of the UK version of the reality show The Apprentice in which 16 candidates fought to be the winner of a £100,000 a year job working for Lord Sugar. Prior to beating 20,000 candidates to become Lord Sugar's Apprentice in 2008, McQueen spent 10 years in the recruitment industry. Since working for Lord Sugar, McQueen has gone on to set up his own company, Raw Talent Academy and feature regularly in magazines, newspapers and television mostly with regards to his achievements with a lack of qualifications. He also regularly appears as a co-host on Love Sport Radio's Tottenham Fans Show.

Dr Leah Clinics expanded to open further branches in London and Essex & the pair have also launched Dr Leah skincare products. Dr Leah received media attention for her glamorous appearance, her success on the show, the success of her resulting business and for advocacy of improved ethics and integrity in the cosmetic treatment industry. Despite the success of her business she remained committed to NHS and returned to work part-time as a GP in 2017.

The thirteenth series of British reality television series The Apprentice (UK) was broadcast in the UK on BBC One, from 4 October to 17 December 2017. Unlike a number of series before which had both their filming and broadcast schedules altered to ensure the programme could aired without clashing with live TV coverage of major sporting and political events, primarily within the UK, it is the first series to focus its broadcast around late Autumn to early Winter, rather than in Spring as had been done when the programme first premiered. Alana Spencer is an entrepreneur from Aberystwyth. She is notable for winning the twelfth series of BBC One's The Apprentice in 2016. The programme's first Welsh winner, Spencer received a £250,000 investment from Lord Sugar for her luxury cake and chocolate business, Ridiculously Rich by Alana.

As with the previous series, the first task was conducted abroad, with the candidates travelling further afield than had been previously staged in the programme's history of business-related tasks held in other countries. In addition, the sister programme The Apprentice - You're Fired saw a change in the host before the series broadcast, with comedian Tom Allen overseeing interviews with candidates after their final appearance within this series. <i>The Apprentice</i> (British TV series) series 16 16th series of a British reality television series

The sixteenth series of British reality television series The Apprentice (UK) premiered on 6 January 2022 in the UK on BBC One. It is the first series to be broadcast since the COVID-19 pandemic, with filming originally planned to begin in spring 2020, however the pandemic forced the BBC to postpone production until the following year. The BBC instead aired six special compilation episodes featuring highlights from previous series which aired from 1 October to 5 November 2020. The series features sixteen candidates and sees Tim Campbell, the winner of the first series replace Claude Littner as Lord Sugar's aide, after Littner suffered an injury whilst cycling. The candidates for the sixteenth series were revealed on 4 January 2022, two days before the show's premiere.

The seventeenth series of British reality television series The Apprentice (UK) premiered on 5 January 2023 in the UK on BBC One. Karren Brady and Tim Campbell returned as Alan Sugar's aides, the latter of whom joined the show on a permanent basis, after stepping in for Claude Littner in the previous series. Littner also returned to the series but in a "reduced role" and only appeared in two episodes. Eighteen candidates competed in the series, the highest number of candidates since the thirteenth series. The first trailer for the series was released on 20 December 2022. The candidates were revealed on 3 January 2023, two days before the show's premiere.
