Carine Werner is an American politician who is a member of the Arizona Senate from the 4th district. [1] A Republican,she has served on the Scottsdale Unified School District School Board. [2] Werner defeated incumbent Democratic State Senator Christine Marsh in the 2024 general election. [3] Since her election to the State Senate,she serves as Chair of the Senate Health and Human Services Committee and Vice-Chair of the Education Committee.
At 11 years old,Carine Werner and her family immigrated to the United States without knowing English. Carine and her husband own a small business and raised their three kids in Scottsdale.
During her time on school board and at the Arizona Legislature,Carine has sponsored bills related to narcotics sentencing [4] and mandatory reporting for child abuse. [5] She voted to increase education spending and to provide more resources for public safety and border security. [6]
