Carles Riba Poetry Prize

The Carles Riba Poetry Prize (Catalan: Premi Carles Riba de poesia) is a literary prize for Catalan-language works awarded by the Edicions Proa publishing house with funding by the Catalan Encyclopedia Foundation. The winning poem is selected from original, unpublished poems during the Literary Night of Saint Lucía, organized by the Òmnium Cultural association. It has an endowment of €5,000.

The prize is a continuation of the Óssa Menor Prize, founded in 1950 by Josep Pedreira, editor of Els llibres de l'Óssa Menor. The prize was named in honor of the poet Carles Riba after his death in 1959.

Joan Triadu i Font was a Catalan literary critic, academic and writer. A cultural and resistant anti-Francoist activist, he was involved in many important Catalan cultural projects in the twentieth century, including the magazines Serra d'Or and Ariel, the newspaper Avui and the association Òmnium Cultural. He was a pioneer in the teaching of Catalan language courses after the Spanish Civil War. As an educationalist, he was the general director of the Cultural Institute of the Centre of Catholic Influence, an institution that created the Thau Barcelona School in 1963 and the Thau Sant Cugat School in 1996. Joan Triadú Year, which marked the centenary of his birth, was celebrated in 2021.

The Josep Pla Award is a Spanish literary prize, awarded by the Destino publishing house since 1968, to a prose text written in Catalan. It is open to all genres: novel, short story, narrative, travel book, memoir, biography, diary, etc. Its name pays tribute to Josep Pla, considered one of the most important prose writers of contemporary Catalan literature.

Eva Baltasar is a Catalan poet and writer. She has a bachelor's degree in Pedagogy from the University of Barcelona. She has published ten books of poetry, which have earned numerous awards including the 2008 Miquel de Palol, the 2010 Benet Ribas, the 2015 Gabriel Ferrater, and the 2020 Òmnium Prize. Baltasar's first novel, Permafrost, received the 2018 Catalan Booksellers Award and it has sold the translation rights to six languages.

The Ramon Llull Award is an honor awarded annually by the Government of the Balearic Islands to persons or entities of the Balearic Islands that have excelled in any field. It was established in 1997 by Decree 3/2014.

The Ramon Llull Novel Award is an honor given annually to a novel originally written in Catalan. Conceived in 1981 by editor José Manuel Lara Hernández, it is awarded by the Planeta publishing house in conjunction with the Government of Andorra. It confers a monetary prize, originally 250,000 pesetas and now €60,000. It recognizes works of the greatest economic value in the Catalan language.

Maria Rosa Ribas Monné is a Catalan composer and pianist. She teaches at the Catalonia College of Music and at the Music School Victòria dels Àngels of Sant Cugat del Vallès in Catalonia. She studied music at the Conservatory of Barcelona, where she obtained the titles of piano, guitar, solfeo and composition. She was awarded an Honourable Mention for Fugue and the honour prizes of Piano, Chamber Music, Harmony and Composition.

The Maria Àngels Anglada Prize is a Catalan literary award, given annually by the Institut Ramon Muntaner, in Figueres (Spain), with the aim of contributing to the promotion of Catalan literature, reaffirming the civic and cultural projection of the school and extolling the memory of the writer Maria Àngels Anglada, ex-professor of the centre. The award has the support of the Geli-Anglada family and the sponsorship of the Ajuntament de Figueres and the Diputació de Girona, as well as the collaboration of the Consell Comarcal de l'Alt Empordà.

Miquel de Palol i Muntanyola is a Spanish architect, poet and storyteller, son of the archaeologist Pere de Palol.

The Mercè Rodoreda Award for stories and narrations, officially and in Catalan Premi Mercè Rodoreda is a literary award in the Catalan language convened by Òmnium Cultural and the Fundació Enciclopèdia Catalana and published by Edicions Proa. Initially called the Víctor Català Award, which was awarded for the first time in 1953, in 1998 it changed its name to become the current Mercè Rodoreda Award for stories and narratives.

Jaume Clotet i Planas is a Catalan journalist, historian and writer.
