Carlos Leon is an American Paralympic track and field athlete who competes in men's shot put.
Leon is a United States Marine Corps veteran who competed for Team USA at the 2008 Summer Paralympics in the shot put F53/54 event.

Assunta Legnante is a visually impaired Italian shot putter. She has competed in both the Olympics and the Paralympics, one of the few athletes to do so. As of February 2013, she is the current F11 shot put world record holder. She competed at the 2020 Summer Paralympics, in Women's discus throw F11, and Women's shot put F12, winning silver medals.
Haiti first participated in the Paralympic Games in 2008, sending a single athlete, Nephtalie Jean-Louis, to compete in powerlifting. Due to unspecified "problems with her weight", however, Jean-Louis was ultimately unable to compete, and was listed as a non-starter in her event (powerlifting).

Switzerland was one of the seventeen nations that competed at the inaugural Summer Paralympic Games in 1960 held in Rome, Italy, from September 19 to 24, 1960. Preparations for the Games began two years prior in 1958 to stage what was at the time called the 9th Annual International Stoke Mandeville Games. The team finished thirteenth in the medal table with a total of four medals, one gold and three silver. The Swiss team consisted of two athletes: Denis Favre, a man who competed in athletics and swimming events, and Simone Knusli, a woman who competed in swimming.

At the 2017 Australian Athletics Championships she threw 7.04m in the Women's Shot Put Secured event, bettering the Women's F32 shot put world record mark of 6.55m.
