Carlos Orellana (born 1907, date of death unknown) was a Mexican boxer. He competed in the men's lightweight event at the 1928 Summer Olympics. [1] At the 1928 Summer Olympics, he lost to Cecil Bissett of Rhodesia. [1]
Juan Carlos Zabala, also known as "El Ñandú Criollo", was an Argentine long-distance runner, who won the marathon at the 1932 Summer Olympics.
José Ricardo Merlos Orellana is a Salvadoran archer. Merlos competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics in men's individual archery. He was defeated in the first round of elimination, placing 35th overall. His older brother Cristóbal Merlos competed in archery for El Salvador at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia.

Southern Rhodesia first participated as Rhodesia in the Olympic Games in 1928, when it sent two boxers to Amsterdam, both of whom were eliminated in their second bout. The colony did not appear at the Games under a Rhodesian banner until 1960, when it sent a fourteen-athlete delegation as part of the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland. In Rome, two sailors, Alan David Butler and Christopher Bevan, finished fourth, which was Rhodesia's best result until it became Zimbabwe in 1980. Southern Rhodesia sent 29 competitors, including a field hockey team, to the 1964 Summer Games, which was its last Olympic appearance under the Rhodesian banner.

Carlos Antonio Bernardo Garcés López was a Mexican sprinter, footballer, and dental surgeon. Garcés is recognized as one of the founding members of Club América as well as one of the first players to officially represent the Mexico national football team. Garcés is also credited as the founder of the football club Cruz Azul. During his employment at Cemento Cruz Azul in the late 1920s, Garcés personally lobbied for the establishment of a company football team of which he also managed. Ironically the club would become fierce rivals with America decades later. Garcés is also credited for the creation of the siquitibum chant.

Clyde Cecil Bissett was a Rhodesian boxer who competed in the 1928 Summer Olympics. While representing Rhodesia at the Olympics, he defeated Carlos Orellana of Mexico before being eliminated in the quarter-finals of the lightweight class by Carlo Orlandi of Italy. His life after the Games is unknown. A Cecil Bissett was assistant native commissioner at Miami in 1949.
