Carmen Klomp-Wearne (born 14 May 1975 in Adelaide) is an Australian former rower. She was a four-time national champion and an Australian representative oarswoman who won a bronze medal at the 1994 World Rowing Championships.
Raised in South Australia Carmen Klomp's senior rowing club rowing was initially from the Port Adelaide Rowing Club and later the Riverside Rowing Club in Adelaide.
She first contested the Australian Rowing Championships in 1991 when she won the U19 national single scull title from her Port Adelaide teammate Anna Ozolins with whom she would go on to row at state and national representative levels. [1]
She made her first state representative appearance for South Australia in the 1991 women's youth four which contested and won the Bicentennial Cup at the Interstate Regatta within the Australian Rowing Championships. [2] In 1992 she rowed again in the South Australian youth four. [3] In 1994 she stepped up into the South Australian senior women's four which won that year won the ULVA Trophy at the Interstate Regatta. [4] She rowed in five consecutive South Australian women's fours from 1994 to 1998, [5] stroking the crew in 1995 [6] and rowing to a second ULVA Trophy victory in the bow seat of the 1996 SA four. [7]
Klomp rowed in the five seat of the South Australian women's eight when in 1999 the women's heavyweight event at the Interstate Regatta switched into eights. [8] That SA crew placed third and Klomp held her seat in the eight in 2000 [9] and 2001 when the SA women's eights placed second and fifth. [10]
Klomp and Ozolins made their Australian representative debut together in a double scull contesting the 1991 Junior World Rowing Championships in Banyoles. They rowed to a fifth placing. [11] The following year at the 1992 Junior World Rowing Championships in Montreal, Ozolins and Klomp rowed the double scull to a silver medal. [11]
At the 1994 World Rowing Championships in Indianapolis Klomp and Ozolins rowed the coxless pair to a bronze medal and were seated together in the stern end of the Australian women's eight who finished in sixth place. [11] In 1995 the stern five of the eight were all South Australians including Klomp still in the seven seat. They missed the A final and finished in eight place. [11]
Other than some seat changes that eight of 1994 and 1995 was largely unchanged for the 1996 Atlanta Olympics and Klomp remained at seven. The crew with an average age of 22, had to qualify for the Games through the qualification regatta in Lucerne (SUI). The fifth placing in the final was better than predicted form and excellent when compared to the experience in the other crews. [12]
In 2000 Klomp-Wearne made another tilt at Olympic selection and rowed in a double scull at the World Rowing Cup II in Vienna. It was her last Australian representative appearance. [11]

Sally Newmarch, now known as Sally Callie, is an Australian former rower – a four-time national champion, a medal winning national representative who competed at World Rowing Championships from 1993 to 2004 and a three time Olympian.

Amber Jae Halliday is a former rower and cyclist from Adelaide, South Australia. She is an Australian national champion, a dual Olympian and a three-time world-champion in lightweight rowing. She rowed for South Australia on nine occasions for six victories in Interstate Regattas and won numerous Australian titles at the Australian National Championships.
Megan Leanne Marcks, OAM is an Australian former national, Olympic and world champion rower. She is an Olympic and World Champion in the coxless pair who represented Australia at the Olympics in 1992 and 1996.
Marguerite Houston is an Australian former lightweight rower. She is an Australian national champion, an Olympian and two-time World Champion. She contested state representative events at nine successive Australian Rowing Championships.
The Australian Rowing Championships is an annual rowing event that determines Australia's national rowing champions and facilitates selection of Australian representative crews for World Championships and the Olympic Games. It is Australia's premier regatta, with states, clubs and schools sending their best crews. The Championships commence with the National Regatta - men's, women's and lightweight events in open, under 23, under 19, under 17 and school age events. Rowers at the National Regatta race in their local club colours with composite crews permitted. The Championships conclude with the Interstate Regatta - currently eight events competed by state representative crews or scullers selected by the state rowing associations. The states compete for an overall points tally which decides the Zurich Cup.
Olympia Aldersey is an Australian rower. She is an Australian national champion, a dual Olympian and was a 2019 World Champion in the coxless four. In 2014 she set a world's fastest ever time (6:37.31) in a women's double scull over 2000m, a record which has stood since. She rowed in the Australian women's eight at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Dana Faletic is an Australian former champion, national representative, World Champion and dual-Olympian rower. Her international representative success was as a sculler, though she represented her state of Tasmania in sculls and in sweep-oared boats.

Paul Anthony Thompson MBE is an Australian elite level rowing coach and former rower. As a rower he was an Australian under-age champion, won a silver medal at the 1985 U23 World Championships and rowed in senior King's Cup eights for both South Australia and New South Wales. He has coached Australian and British crews to World Championship titles and Olympic medals including taking Kate Slatter and Megan Still to Australia's first women's Olympic rowing gold at Atlanta 1996. By 2012 he was Great Britain's head coach for women and lightweights and took British crews to three gold and two silver medals at London 2012. Since 2022 he has been Rowing Australia's High Performance Director.
Molly Goodman is an Australian rower. She is a national champion, a dual Olympian and a world champion winning the 2017 world title in a coxless four. She stroked the Australian eight to victory in the Remenham Challenge Cup at the 2018 Henley Royal Regatta. She stroked the Australian women's eight at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Victoria Toogood is an Australian former rower. She was a national champion, a junior world champion and a medalist at World Championships.
Anna Ozolins is an Australian former rower. She is a four-time national champion and an Australian representative oarswoman who won a bronze medal at the 1994 World Rowing Championships. She was the stroke of the Australian women's heavyweight eight from 1994 to 1995 and from 1998 to 1999.
Maia Simmonds is an Australian former representative rower. She is a three-time national champion, rowed for her home state of Western Australia in both lightweight and heavyweight crews, in sculling and sweep-oared boats and won a silver medal at the 2014 World Rowing Championships.
Gillian Margaret Campbell is an Australian former representative rower. In the six seasons from 1988 to 1993 she was consistently in the top-tier of Australian heavyweight women scullers winning ten national sculling titles and one sweep-oared championship title.
