Anna Ozolins (born 12 May 1974 in Broken Hill, New South Wales) is an Australian former rower. She is a four-time national champion and an Australian representative oarswoman who won a bronze medal at the 1994 World Rowing Championships. She was the stroke of the Australian women's heavyweight eight from 1994 to 1995 and from 1998 to 1999.
Ozolins' junior rowing was from the Port Adelaide Rowing Club and later the Adelaide Rowing Club.
She first contested the Australian Rowing Championships in 1991 when she placed second in the U19 national single scull title behind her Port Adelaide teammate Carmen Klomp-Wearne with whom she would go on to row at state and national representative levels. [1]
She made her first state representative appearance for South Australia, one month after her seventeenth birthday in the 1991 women's four which contested the ULVA Trophy at the Interstate Regatta within the Australian Rowing Championships. [2] In 1992 she rowed in the South Australian youth four. [3]
In 1994 she was back in the South Australian senior women's four which that year won the ULVA Trophy at the Interstate Regatta [4] and was again in the SA four in 1995. In 1997 Ozolins took a scholarship to the Australian Institute of Sport and that year stroked the Australian Capital Territory women's four at the Interstate Regatta. [5]
In 1999 the women's heavyweight event at the Interstate Regatta switched into coxed eights. [6] Ozolins stroked the 2001 South Australian eight to a fifth placing. [7]
Ozolins and Klomp made their Australian representative debut together in a double scull contesting the 1991 Junior World Rowing Championships in Banyoles. They rowed to a fifth placing. [8] The following year at the 1992 Junior World Rowing Championships in Montreal, Ozolins and Klomp rowed the double scull to a silver medal. [8]
At the 1994 World Rowing Championships in Indianapolis Ozolins and Klomp rowed the coxless pair to a bronze medal and were seated together in the stern end of the Australian women's eight who finished in sixth place. [8] In 1995 the stern five of the eight were again all South Australians including Ozolins again at stroke. They missed the A final and finished in eight place. [8]
Other than some seat changes that eight of 1994 and 1995 was largely unchanged for the 1996 Atlanta Olympics and Ozolins moved into the four seat. The crew with an average age of 22, had to qualify for the Games through the qualification regatta in Lucerne (SUI). The fifth placing in the final was better than predicted form and excellent when compared to the experience in the other crews. [9]
Ozolins was back in Australian representative crews in 1998 and at two World Rowing Cups in Europe and at the 1998 World Rowing Championships in Cologne she stroked the eight and rowed in a coxless pair with Jodi Winter. [8] At the World Championships the eight placed fourth and the pair seventh. She held her seat as stroke of the Australian women's eight into 1999 when she set the pace at the WRC III in Lucerne and then at the 1999 World Rowing Championships in St Catharines where in her last Australian appearance the eight finished in fifth place. Kate Elizabeth Slatter OAM is an Australian former rower, a sixteen time national champion, world champion and Olympic champion from Adelaide, South Australia. She is a three-time Olympian who in 1996 won Australia's first Olympic gold in women's rowing.
Megan Leanne Marcks, OAM is an Australian former national, Olympic and world champion rower. She is an Olympic and World Champion in the coxless pair who represented Australia at the Olympics in 1992 and 1996.
Olympia Aldersey is an Australian rower. She is an Australian national champion, a dual Olympian and was a 2019 World Champion in the coxless four. In 2014 she set a world's fastest ever time (6:37.31) in a women's double scull over 2000m, a record which has stood since. She rowed in the Australian women's eight at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Paul Anthony Thompson MBE is an Australian elite level rowing coach and former rower. As a rower he was an Australian under-age champion, won a silver medal at the 1985 U23 World Championships and rowed in senior King's Cup eights for both South Australia and New South Wales. He has coached Australian and British crews to World Championship titles and Olympic medals including taking Kate Slatter and Megan Still to Australia's first women's Olympic rowing gold at Atlanta 1996. By 2012 he was Great Britain's head coach for women and lightweights and took British crews to three gold and two silver medals at London 2012. Since 2022 he has been Rowing Australia's High Performance Director.
Alexander Hill is an Australian representative rower. He is an Australian national champion, a dual Olympian, an Olympic gold and silver medallist and was the 2017 and 2018 world champion in the coxless four. He stroked the Australian men's coxless four to a gold medal victory at the Tokyo Olympics.
Molly Goodman is an Australian rower. She is a national champion, a dual Olympian and a world champion winning the 2017 world title in a coxless four. She stroked the Australian eight to victory in the Remenham Challenge Cup at the 2018 Henley Royal Regatta. She stroked the Australian women's eight at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Victoria Toogood is an Australian former rower. She was a national champion, a junior world champion and a medalist at World Championships.
Pamela Westendorf is an Australian former lightweight rower. She won twenty-three Australian national championships, was an Olympian, represented at five World Championships over a twelve-year period and won a silver medal at the 1990 World Rowing Championships.
Carmen Klomp-Wearne is an Australian former rower. She was a four-time national champion and an Australian representative oarswoman who won a bronze medal at the 1994 World Rowing Championships.
Perry Ward is an Australian national representative lightweight rower. He rowed in Western Australia's state selection lightweight crew for thirteen consecutive years from 2006 to 2018, winning the national title on four occasions. He represented Australia at eight senior and U23 world championships, stroking every crew in which he was selected and winning a silver medal at the 2010 World Rowing Championships.
David Palfreyman is an Australian former coxswain, rower and rowing coach. He was a national champion three times as a coxswain and twice as a rower and won a gold medal at the 1962 Commonwealth Games.
