Carole Rosser (born 20 April 1942) is a British former tennis player.

A native of Devon, Rosser was active in the 1960s. Her tournaments wins include singles titles at the South of England Championships in 1962 and Welsh Championships in 1963. She was a three-time winner of the Scottish Hard Court Championships. [1] In 1964 she had an upset win over Lesley Turner at a tournament in Lausanne. [2] She and Virginia Wade teamed up to make the doubles quarter-finals of the 1964 U.S. National Championships. [3]

Rosser married Scottish tennis player Harry Matheson and their son is former professional player Ross Matheson. [1]

Ross Matheson is a former professional tennis player from Scotland.

Tennis in Scotland was introduced from France in the Middle Ages. During the 20th century it was a minor sport, but has obtained some prominence due to the successes of Andy Murray and other Scots. While tennis courts are not uncommon, the country's oceanic climate has made it historically quite hard for Scottish players to develop. The only tennis inductee into the Scottish Sports Hall of Fame is Winnie Shaw. However, since 2008, Tennis Scotland's membership has increased from 32,715 to 47,657 - a rise of more than 45 per cent.

The Scottish Covered Courts Tennis Championships or simply the Scottish Covered Courts was an open men's and women's international indoor tournament founded in 1962. The tournament ran until 1984 as part of the world wide tour. The championships were the precursor event to the current Scottish Indoor Championships.
