Carys Parry

Carys Parry (born 24 July 1981) is a Welsh hammer thrower.

Parry was born in Church Village, Rhondda Cynon Taf. She finished sixth at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne with a personal best throw of 61.80 metres.

Her current personal best throw is 66.31 metres, achieved in June 2008 in Birmingham. This is a Welsh record and places Parry fourth amongst British hammer throwers, behind Commonwealth champions Lorraine Shaw and Shirley Webb, as well as Zoe Derham. [1] She won the silver medal at the Commonwealth Games in Dehli.

Having missed out on qualification for the London 2012 Olympic Games, coming third in qualifiers to Sophie Hitchon, she later qualified for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Stuart Rendell is an Australian retired hammer thrower. He competed in the 2000 and 2004 Olympics, but failed to qualify from his pool. His personal best throw is 79.29 metres, achieved in July 2002 in Varaždin. This is the current Oceanian record. He retired from athletics in 2006 after winning his second Commonwealth Games gold medal at the Melbourne Commonwealth Games, Australia, with a Games Record distance of 77.53m. Rendell taught at Miles Franklin Primary School from 2005 to 2008, before moving to the Garran Primary School at the start of 2009, but then moved to Calwell Primary School.

Margaret "Meg" Elizabeth Stone is a retired Scottish discus thrower and Shot putter. She reached the Olympic finals at discus in Moscow 1980 (9th) and Los Angeles 1984 (5th). She also won the 1982 Commonwealth Games title. Her discus best of 67.48 metres has stood as the British record since 1981, while her shot put best of 18.99 metres has stood as the Scottish record since 1983.

Stevens qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and threw 58.77m in the Women's dicus throw. This was not a sufficient distance to qualify her for the final.

Fournier also was twice runner-up in the discus at the African Championships and once runner-up in the hammer.

Nicholas Miller is a British track and field athlete who specialises in the hammer throw. He was the gold medallist at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and 2022 Commonwealth Games, a silver medallist at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and the gold medal at the 2015 European Athletics U23 Championships. He holds the British record of 80.26 m for the event.

Aaron Neighbour is a retired Australian discus thrower and shot putter.

Adele Nicoll is a British shot putter, discus thrower and bobsledder. She has won multiple Welsh Athletics Championships events, and won the shot put event at the 2022 British Athletics Championships. She came second in the 2021–22 Bobsleigh World Cup event in Sigulda, Latvia alongside Mica McNeill. Nicoll was a reserve for the 2022 Winter Olympics, and competed at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
