Cassio Road, also known as the West Herts Sport Ground, is a multi use venue and sports ground in Watford, England. It was the home ground of Watford Football Club from 1898 to 1922 and has been the home ground of West Herts Football Club since 2004. [1]
In the early twentieth century, Cassio Road was used for athletics, cricket and football. By 1920 spectator facilities included a pavilion and covered standing areas on the western touchline, and a covered terrace behind the northern end of the pitch. When football was played at the ground, duckboards were used on the two sides left open for cricket. [2]
Watford were elected to the Football League in 1920, and the first League match at Cassio Road was a 2–0 defeat by QPR on 4 September 1920 watched by 10,466 spectators. The ground's highest League attendance was 13,000 for a local derby with Luton Town on 25 March 1921. [2]
In 1922 Watford moved to the Vicarage Road ground. The last League game at Cassio Road was played on 29 April 1922, with Watford beating Gillingham 1–0 in front of 5,000 spectators. The ground remained open as a sports venue. [2]

The Pilot Field is a football stadium in Hastings, East Sussex. It is home to Hastings United men's and women's teams. The men's team currently play in the Isthmian League premier division, and the women's team currently play in the LSERFL division one south. The club have used the ground since 1985 after the old Hastings United folded, having previously used the ground between 1920 and 1948. The current capacity stands at 4,050 although over 9,000 have been known to attend events in the past and the closure of the grass bank has decreased the capacity.

Watford Football Club is an English association football club from Watford, Hertfordshire. Formed as Watford Rovers in 1881, the club entered the FA Cup for the first time in 1886. In the same year, they also entered the county-wide Herts Senior Cup, reaching the final six times over the next ten years. Watford Rovers became West Hertfordshire in 1893, and joined the Southern League for the 1896–97 season. The team started to change from one entirely of amateurs, to one including paid professionals. In 1898, West Hertfordshire merged with Watford St Mary's to form Watford Football Club.
The Alexandra Recreation Ground, also known as Nantwich Road, was a multi-sport venue in Crewe in England. Opened in 1877, it was the home ground of Crewe Alexandra for 19 years, and also hosted an FA Cup semi-final and the 1886-87 Welsh Cup final, both in 1887, and an England home match in 1888.
Old Logie Green was a football ground in the Bonnington area of Edinburgh, Scotland. It was the home ground of Leith Athletic and St Bernard's between 1904 and 1926, both having previously played at the neighbouring New Logie Green ground.
