Cathy Townsend (born June 8, 1937) was a Canadian ten-pin bowler. Townsend became one of the first Canadian women to win gold at the World Bowling American Zone Championships in 1974. The following year, she was the first woman of Canada to win the QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup. Townsend was inducted into the Canada's Sports Hall of Fame in 1977 and the Canadian Tenpin Federation Hall of Fame in 1994.
On June 8, 1937, Townsend was born in Campbellton, New Brunswick. She began her bowling career in 1963. [1]
In 1967, Townsend participated in the WTBA World Tenpin Bowling Championships but did not win a medal. [2] From 1969 to 1971, she had won silver at the Tournament of the Americas. [1] In 1974, Townsend also won gold in the doubles event at the Fédération Internationale des Quilleurs American Zone Championships alongside Joanne Walker Keefe. She became one of the first Canadian women to receive a gold medal in this championship. [3] At the same competition, Townsend won silver in the four-woman and bronze in the five-woman events. [1]
The following year, Townsend participated in the 1975 World Tenpin Bowling Championships [4] and became the first woman of Canada to win the QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup. [5] After the World Cup, Townsend withdrew from the competition due to an arm injury. She returned to bowling in the summer of 1976. [6] After returning to bowling, she won gold at the 1976 Tournament of the Americas in the all-events and mixed four competitions. [1] In 1981, Townsend won bronze in the five-woman event at the Pan American Bowling Confederation Championships. [7] Outside of bowling, Townsend was a stenographer. [8]
Townsend was inducted into the Canada's Sports Hall of Fame in 1977 [1] and the Canadian Tenpin Federation Hall of Fame in 1994. [3]

He is a World Bowling Hall of Famer and is the first and only bowling athlete to be awarded with the prestigious IOC President's Trophy. He was also named International Bowling Athlete of the Millennium by the FIQ in 1999 and was inducted in the Philippine Sports Hall of Fame in 2018.

She has been a member of Team Colombia for twenty years, and another half dozen years on Junior Team Colombia. She has one title on the PWBA Tour since the rebirth of the Professional Women's Bowling Association in 2015.

Lynda Barnes is one of the world's leading female tenpin bowlers. She is a former member of the PWBA. Bowling as an amateur, Lynda won the 1998 USBC Queens championship, then known as the WIBC Queens. In 1999, Lynda married Chris Barnes, a leading bowler on the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) tour. The couple's twin sons, Troy and Ryan, were born in May 2002. Lynda is a former member of Team USA.
Aura Mireya Guerra López is a Dominican ten-pin bowler who won back to back Qubica AMF Bowling World Cup Titles.
Jasmine Yeong-Nathan is a Singaporean ten-pin bowler. She is the younger sister of Jason Yeong-Nathan, who is a former Singapore national bowler. Yeong-Nathan was the first Singaporean to win the QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup in 2008.
Or Aviram is an Israeli ten-pin bowler. He finished runner-up in the 2005 QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup. Eight years later, he would become the first Israeli to win the QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup. He became the first Israeli to win the European Champions Cup, when he won in 2006. This would be the only medal Israel has won in European Champions Cup history.

She Won the AMF World Cup in 1982 in Scheveningen in the Netherlands and for a second time in 1983 in Mexico City, making her the only athlete to win back-to-back AMF World Cup titles ever. Ann-Maree Putney of New South Wales is a female Australian two-time World Champion ten-pin bowler. In 2009, she was elected to the World Bowling Writers International Bowling Hall of Fame. She competed for Australia for 26 years, winning a total of 30 medals in international competitions such as the World, Asian, and Commonwealth Championships. In 2019, she was inducted into the Tenpin Bowling Australia (TBA) Hall of Fame as well as the Hunter Region Sporting Hall of Fame. Her career spanned 34 years.
The Philippine Bowling Congress Inc. or more popularly known as Philippine Bowling Congress and PBC was the governing body for tenpin bowling in the Philippines from 1977 to 2016. The Philippine Bowling Federation Inc.PBF replaced it as the appointed member of the International Bowling Federation (IBF), Asian Bowling Federation (ABF), and Philippine Olympic Committee (POC). in 2016.
The World Bowling Singles Championships is a Ten-pin bowling event open to members of World Bowling. Shannon Pluhowsky is an American left-handed ten-pin bowler who competes in the Professional Women's Bowling Association (PWBA) and internationally. Pluhowsky is a 21-time member of Team USA (2001–2021), and a former four-time member of Junior Team USA (2000–2003). Pluhowsky has six professional championships, including major wins at the 2006 USBC Queens in Reno, Nevada, the 2014 BPAA Women's All-Star in Rockford, Illinois, and the 2021 PWBA Tour Championship in Reno, Nevada.
Cara Honeychurch of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia is a female world champion tenpin bowler. She won the AMF Bowling World Cup in 1996 in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and voted Bowler of the Year by the World Bowling Writers the same year. She was inducted to the World Bowling Writers' International Hall of Fame in 1998.
