Cavity is an American sludge metal band from Miami, Florida. [1] They first formed in 1992, releasing a multitude of albums and singles before breaking up in 2003. [2] Steve Brooks and Juan Montoya would go on to play in Torche and Floor. [3] [4] Anthony Vialon, Henry Wilson and Beatriz Monteavaro also played in Floor. [5] Jason Landrian went on to form Black Cobra. [6]

In 2015, the group reunited and toured the United States for the first time since their dissolution. [7] The group issued their first album since their reunion, titled After Death, through Valley King in 2017. [8]

Pig Destroyer is an American grindcore band formed in 1997 in Alexandria, Virginia. The band was formed by vocalist J.R. Hayes, guitarist Scott Hull, and drummer John Evans. Throughout the band's earlier history, they were a three-piece group until sampler Blake Harrison joined in 2006, notably had no bassist until the inclusion of John Jarvis in 2013 and went through 2 past drummers with the role currently held by Adam Jarvis. Pig Destroyer is one of the most well-known grindcore bands in the genre due to Hayes's poetic lyrics, Hull's incorporation of thrash, punk, and doom influences in songwriting, and technical drum work.

Hydra Head Records was an independent record label specializing in extreme metal music, founded in New Mexico by Aaron Turner in 1993. It had another imprint, Hydra Head Noise Industries, which specialized in experimental and noise music. Turner announced he was winding the label down in 2012. In 2020, the label removed its catalog from Spotify and returned its album rights back to several artists.

On the Lam is the third studio album by American sludge metal band Cavity released on 23 October 2001 on the Hydra Head Records label. The album was recorded during the month of December 2000 at Dungeon Studios in the band's home state of Florida and was produced by the band and Jeremy Du Bois. The album was well received by music critics with some calling it their most accessible album to date and Eduardo Rivadavia of AllMusic went so far as to call the album "remarkable".
