Ayacucho, known as Huamanga from its creation in 1822 until 1825, is a department and region of Peru, located in the south-central Andes of the country. Its capital is the city of Ayacucho. The region was one of the hardest hit in the 1980s during the guerrilla war waged by Shining Path known as the internal conflict in Peru.

Uruashraju lies south of Huantsán, east of Cashán and Shacsha, and southeast of Lake Tararhua.

Hatun Pastu is a mountain in the Andes of Peru, about 5,170 metres (16,962 ft) high. It is located in the Puno Region, Lampa Province, on the border of the districts Palca and Paratía, southeast of the mountain Qillqa and north of Waykira.
Ccarhuarazo or Qarwarasu is a 5,169-metre-high (16,959 ft) mountain in the Chunta mountain range in the Andes of Peru. It is located in the Huancavelica Region, Castrovirreyna Province, Santa Ana District, and in the Huancavelica Province, Huancavelica District. Ccarhuarazo is situated southeast of Kuntur Wamani and Wamanrasu. Its highest peak is on the border of the provinces. Two other peaks which reach 5,062 metres (16,608 ft) and more than 5,000 metres (16,404 ft) lie to the northeast in the Huancavelica District.

It is situated in the Huanca Sancos Province, Sacsamarca District, and in the Víctor Fajardo Province, Huancaraylla District.
Runcu Tauja is a mountain in the Vilcanota mountain range in the Andes of Peru, about 5,200 metres (17,060 ft) high. It is located in the Cusco Region, Canchis Province, Checacupe District, and in the Puno Region, Carabaya Province, Corani District. Runcu Tauja lies northwest of the glaciated area of Quelccaya, west of Quimsachata and north of Millo.
