Cedric Javon Cormier (born April 2, 1979) is an American college football coach and former wide receiver. He is the wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator at New Mexico State University, a position he has held since 2024. Cormier played college football at University of Colorado-Boulder. [1]

Early life

Cormier was born in Houston, Texas. He attended North Shore High School and graduated at University of Colorado-Boulder with a bachelor's degree in Communications in 2002. [2]

Playing career

Cormier played high school at North Shore where he earned Houston Touchdown Club offensive and was listed Houston chronicle most valuable player in 1996. [3] In 2001, he played wide receiver at Colorado and was a member of Big XII Championship team. [4] As a senior, he caught 52 passes for 529 yards and one touchdown for the Colorado Buffaloes. [5] [6]

Coaching career

Early years

Cedric Cormier started his coaching career in 2004 as wide receivers assistant coach at Channelview High School in Houston, where he coached Chicago Bear wide receiver Johnny Knox. Cormier coached next at Baytown Lee for two seasons as the special team's coordinator before moving to University of Montana in 2007.

University of Montana

In 2007, Montana named Cormier its wide receivers coach. [7] [8] [6]

Miami

In 2009, Cormier was announced as the assistant wide receivers coach at Miami University by head coach Mike Haywood. [9]

University Nevada Las Vegas

Cormier was hired by University Nevada Las Vegas in 2010 as their assistant coach, wide receivers coach, pro liaisons and camp director. [10] [11] [12] [13] [14] [15]

Houston Christian University

In 2020, Cormier was promoted to offensive coordinator [16] by head coach, Vic Shealy of HBU taking over for Zack Kittley who accepted the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks position at Western Kentucky. [17] [18] [19]

Ball State University

In 2023, Cormier was hired as wide receivers coach at Ball State University replacing Marcus Knight. During his tenure he coached seven players that signed with NFL. [20] [21]

New Mexico State University

2024

Following one year coaching at Ball State University, Cormier reunited with head coach Tony Sanchez after joining Aggies and currently serves as passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach. [22] [23] [24] [25]

Personal life

Cormier and his wife Dr. Alicia Booker Cormier have two kids a son Deon and daughter Danielle. Cedric parents are Freddy and Margie Cormier.

Rick Steven Dennison is an American football coach and former linebacker who is currently the senior offensive assistant for the New Orleans Saints. He was the offensive line coach and run game coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL) from 2019 to 2020. An assistant in the NFL since 1995, he served as offensive coordinator for the Denver Broncos, Houston Texans (2010–2013), and Buffalo Bills (2017), and served as quarterbacks coach for the Baltimore Ravens in 2014. He was the special teams coach for the Super Bowl Champion Broncos in 1997 and 1998. A linebacker who spent his entire NFL playing career in Denver from 1982 to 1990, he appeared in Super Bowls XXI, XXII, and XXIV.

Charles David Baldwin is an American football coach. He served as the head football coach at California State University, Northridge from 1995 to 1996 and at San Jose State University from 1997 to 2000. Baldwin was also the interim head football coach at Colorado State University for 2014 Las Vegas Bowl.

He was previously the defensive coordinator and cornerbacks coach at the University of Kansas. From 1995 to 1998, Shealy served as the head football coach at Azusa Pacific University, compiling a record of 27–14–1. In 1998, he coached the team to the NAIA Football National Championship. For his efforts that season, Shealy was named the NAIA Coach of the Year and the American Football Quarterly Schutt National Coach of the Year.

The 2010 UNLV Rebels football team was the 43rd varsity football team to represent the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The Rebels played in the Mountain West Conference and compete each season against the remaining eight members of the conference and one permanent interstate rival: Nevada. Matt Lubick is an American football coach and former player. He is currently the offensive coordinator for the University of Nevada. He was previously the offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. He was named the 2012 Football Scoop Wide Receivers Coach of the Year while coaching at Duke University.

Klint Alexander Kubiak is an American football coach who is the offensive coordinator for the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League (NFL).
