Celina Johanna Maria Lemmen (born March 2, 1985) is a Dutch swimmer who specialized in freestyle events. [1] She is a single-time Olympian (2004), and a double medalist in sprint freestyle at the 2001 European Junior Championships in Valletta, Malta.

Lemmen grew up in San Antonio, Texas, where she attended Ronald Reagan High School and competed for their swim team. [2] She then attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, where she majored in management, and swam for the SMU Mustangs under head coach Steve Collins. [3] While studying in the United States on an athletic scholarship, Lemmen has earned numerous high school and state titles, and received two-year All-American honors in college swimming.

Lemmen made swimming history in the international scene at the 2001 European Junior Championships in Valletta, Malta, where she won a total of two medals: a silver in the 200 m freestyle (2:03.27), and a bronze in the 100 m freestyle (57.47). [4] [5]

Three years later, at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Lemmen qualified only for the women's 4×200 m freestyle relay as a member of the Dutch team. [6] She posted a relay entry time of 2:02.37 from the ConocoPhillips Spring National Championships in Orlando, Florida. [7] [8] Teaming with Marleen Veldhuis, Chantal Groot, and Haike van Stralen in heat two, Lemmen swam a lead-off leg and recorded a split of 2:02.21. Lemmen and the entire Dutch team missed the top 8 final by almost two seconds, finishing only in fifth place and ninth overall with a final time of 8:08.96. [9] [10]

Louise Mai Jansen is a Danish former swimmer, who specialized in freestyle and individual medley events. She is an eighteen-time national champion and a Nordic record holder in the freestyle and medley. She is also an eighth-place finalist in the 200 m individual medley at the 2010 European Aquatics Championships in Budapest, Hungary with a time of 2:17.37, just eight seconds off the record set by Julie Hjorth-Hansen in 2009. Jansen is an economics graduate, majoring in mathematics at Copenhagen Business School in Copenhagen.

Hanna Miluska is a Swiss former swimmer, who specialized in freestyle events and open water marathon. She is a two-time medalist in the 5 km open water at the World and European Championships. Miluska is also a member of Beider Basel Swimming Club, and is trained by her long-time coach Axel Mitbauer. She is also the daughter of former rower Ivan Miluška, who played for Czechoslovakia in the men's pairs at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City.

Kim Hyun-joo is a South Korean former swimmer, who specialized in freestyle events. She won a total of two bronze medals, as a member of the South Korean team, in the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay (3:44.81) and 4 × 200 m freestyle relay (8:19.62) at the 2002 Asian Games in Busan, South Korea.

Luís Miguel Rodrigues Monteiro is a Portuguese former swimmer, who specialized in freestyle events. He is a fourth-place finalist in the 200 m freestyle (1:52.33) at the 2001 European Junior Swimming Championships in Valletta, Malta. Monteiro is a member of the swimming team for Football Club Porto, and is trained by long-time coach and mentor Rui Sardinha.

Dominique Lorraine Diezi is a Swiss former swimmer who specialized in sprint freestyle events. She is a two-time Olympian, a 32-time Swiss national champion, a multiple-time record holder in sprint freestyle, and a member of Switzerland's national swimming team (1992–2004). She also earned multiple All-American honors while studying in the United States.

Maksym Mykolaiovych Kokosha is a Ukrainian former swimmer, who specialized in freestyle events. He is a single-time Olympian (2004), and a two-time Universiade finalist. He currently holds a Ukrainian record of 7:21.42 in the 4 × 200 m freestyle relay at the 2005 FINA World Championships in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Kokosha is a member of the swimming team for Dynamo Kyiv, and is trained by longtime coach Volodymyr Vorona.

Martin Škacha is a Czech former swimmer, who specialized in freestyle events. He won a bronze medal in the 100 m freestyle (51.52) at the 2001 European Junior Swimming Championships in Valletta, Malta. Skacha is also a member of the swimming team for Kometa Brno, and is trained by head coach Ondřej Butir.

Kathryn Evans is an English former competitive swimmer who represented Great Britain in the Olympic Games. Evans specialised in freestyle and individual medley events. She is a two-time Olympian, and a double British champion in the 200 m individual medley. Evans also played for Nova Centurion Swim Club in Nottingham, under head coach Bill Furniss. Evans is the cousin of late rower Acer Nethercott, who competed in the men's eight at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.

Nicole Zahnd is a retired Swiss swimmer, who specialized in sprint freestyle events. She was born in Bern. She is a two-time Olympian, and a top 8 finalist in the 200 m freestyle at the 2001 European Short Course Swimming Championships in Antwerp, Belgium. Zahnd played for two swimming clubs in Geneva, before she trained under head coach Dirk Reinecke as part of the Swiss national team. Zahnd is also the wife of former medley swimmer and two-time Olympian Yves Platel.

Nathalie Bernard is a South African-born New Zealand former swimmer, who specialised in freestyle events. She is a single-time Olympian (2004), and a member of North Shore Swim Club in Auckland, under head coach Thomas Ansorg.

Haike Eva van Stralen is a Dutch former swimmer, who specialized in freestyle events. She is a two-time Olympian, and double Dutch short-course champion in the 200 and 400 m freestyle. Van Stralen also played for De Kempvis Swimming Club in Spijkenisse, under her personal coach Dick Bergsma.

Evangelia Tsagka is a Greek former swimmer, who specialized in freestyle events. She is a single-time Olympian (2004), and a silver medalist in the freestyle relay at the 2001 Mediterranean Games in Tunis, Tunisia (8:16.14).

Regan Smith is an American competitive swimmer. As of 2022, Smith trains under Bob Bowman with the Arizona State University professional training group. She is the world junior record holder in the women's long course 100-meter backstroke and 200-meter backstroke and a former world record holder in the long course 100-meter backstroke and the 200-meter backstroke. She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in three events representing the United States, winning a bronze medal in the 100-meter backstroke, a silver medal in the 200-meter butterfly, and a silver medal in the 4×100-meter medley relay. At the World Aquatics Championships, she won individual gold medals in the 200-meter backstroke in 2019 and the 100-meter backstroke in 2022 and a relay gold medal swimming the backstroke leg of the 4x100 medley relay in 2023.

Mollie Grace O'Callaghan, is an Australian swimmer. She was the 2023 world champion in the women's 100m and 200m freestyle individual events, and part of the world champion 4 × 100 m and 4 × 200 m Australian women's relay teams together with 4 × 100 m mixed relay team. As of July 2023 she is the world record holder in the women's individual 200m freestyle.

Erin Gemmell is an American competitive swimmer. She is an American record holder in the short course 4×200 meter freestyle relay. In the 200 metre freestyle, she won the gold medal at the 2022 Junior Pan Pacific Championships and placed fourth at the 2022 World Short Course Championships. In the 400 meter freestyle, she won the gold medal at the 2022 Junior Pan Pacific Championships, the 2022 US National title, and placed sixth at the 2022 World Short Course Championships. For the 4×200 meter freestyle relay, she won a bronze medal at the 2022 World Short Course Championships as well as gold medals at the 2019 World Junior Championships and 2022 Junior Pan Pacific Championships, swimming on the finals relay at each competition.
