MCI-Centenary Methodist Church is a church compound located at Chapel road, Abids housing two of the most prominent churches in the city. It is a Protestant Church and is under the auspices of Methodist Church in India. It was built in the 1970s in order to accommodate the increasing number of Methodists in the city. It is currently the largest church in Hyderabad in terms of seating capacity. The church shares its premises with its predecessor the Methodist chapel which was built in 1817. This church which is popularly known as the Methodist Chapel of Chapel Road was established by the missionaries of the Methodist Episcopal Church. The church offers services in Telugu, English, Hindi, Marathi and Kannada.
The Methodists began their missionary activities in the Deccan region of India in the mid-1800s. The South India Conference of the Methodists was also held in Hyderabad in 1884. [1] The Methodist chapel was built much earlier, in 1877, and has the distinction of being the oldest Christian religious structure in the city. Due to its small size, it was never referred to as a church; it is still referred to as a chapel. The much larger Centenary Methodist church was built in the 1970s in order to accommodate the growing number of Methodists in the city. The church now caters to a cosmopolitan group of Methodists, who speak Telugu (the largest) followed by English, Hindi, Marathi, and Kannada.
The Methodist chapel is a small whitewashed Neo-Gothic Structure. The chapel features a multitude of spires and Gothic buttresses. The walls of the chapel also feature several plaques commemorating the services of several missionaries that worked in the region. The church also has a large stained glass window as its altarpiece.
This is a much larger roomier church that can accommodate more than 2000 people. The church is a stone masonry structure subscribing to the contemporary style of architecture. It has a wide and lofty nave with a balcony. The church also has a tall and pointed bell tower that is prominently visible in the surrounding areas.

Telugu Christians or Telugu Kraistava are an ethno-religious community who form the second-largest religious minority in the Indian states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. According to the Census of India, there are over seven million Christians in Andhra Pradesh, constituting 1.51% of the state's population, although a decrease from the 1971 census figure which was 1.2%, as a result of low birth rates and emigration. Most Telugu Christians are Protestant, belonging to major Indian Protestant denominations such as the predominant Anglican Church of South India, Pentecostals such as Assemblies of God in India, India Pentecostal Church of God, The Pentecostal Mission, the Andhra Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Samavesam of Telugu Baptist Churches Bible Mission the Salvation Army and several others. There also is a significant number of Roman Catholics and Evangelicals. Although the Franciscans of the Roman Catholic Church brought Christianity to the Deccan area in 1535, it is only after 1759 AD, when the Northern Circars came under the rule of the East India Company, that the region opened up to greater Christian influence. The first Protestant missionaries in Andhra Pradesh were Rev. Cran and Rev. Des Granges who were sent out by the London Missionary Society. They set up their station at Visakhapatnam in 1805 AD. Regions with significant populations of Telugu Christians include the erstwhile Northern Circars, the coastal belt and the cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. The Church in Andhra Pradesh runs thousands of educational institutions and hospitals contributing significantly to the development of the state. Telugu Christians are found in all walks of life and have contributed much to the development of the state. Telugu Christians have one of the highest literacy, work participation figures and most even male-to-female ratio figures among the various religious communities in the state.

STBC-Centenary Baptist Church is a Protestant Church in the city of Secunderabad, India which was established in 1875 by the American Baptist Foreign Mission Society (ABM) and was later led by the Samavesam of Telugu Baptist Churches (STBC) through the Deccan Association.

Fred Goodwill (1874–1969) was a British missionary stationed in Bangalore, British India between 1899 and 1924, serving as the Superintendent of the Wesleyan Tamil Mission, Bangalore and Kolar Gold Fields. He is acknowledged for working for the cause of education of native women in the Bangalore Cantonment. The Goodwills Girls School located in Fraser Town, Bangalore Cantonment is named after him. He was a scholar of the Tamil Language, and was also fluent in Canarese (Kannada) and Telagu (Telugu). Fred is acknowledged as an authority on Tamil Shaiva Literature, with authors quoting from his research. As one of the founding members of the Mythic Society, his published papers on the history of the Mysore State form the basis of history of the State, as we know it now.

Madalsa Sharma also spelled as Madalasa Sharma is an Indian model and actress. She has acted in films in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, German and Punjabi languages and known for her debut in Anupama as Kavya Gandhi .
Ishan Arya was an Indian cinematographer, and producer, best known as producer and cinematographer of Art cinema classic Garm Hava (1973). After working in theatre and advertising, he made his debut with Garm Hava directed by M. S. Sathyu. After that he worked largely in South Indian cinema, especially Telugu, though he work on two noted Hindi art films, Bazaar (1982) directed by Sagar Sarhadi and Anjuman (1986) directed by Muzaffar Ali. At the 23rd National Film Awards, he won the Best Cinematography Award for Telugu film, Mutyala Muggu (1975).
